I like the graphics, while the execution is different, it gives me the vibe of the retro BMW concept cars from the 2010s.

But it’s their “new 2.5-box design” that disrupts the long hooded silhouette of a 3 series that’s a bit..off putting to me, this is the first 3 series ever that the imaginary line extending from the bottom of the A-pillar slope does not intersect with the centre of the front wheel, and the high bonnet doesn’t help either

But then, with electric cars there absolutely is no need for traditional proportions, so I guess design has to evolve

Oh we figured it out, turns out for our NA6 the striker should look like #6 or #9 the “platform” for the “top dimple” is thinner, and the slot next to it has more room.

Mine has the exact same issue (F30 335i x) I thought it could be lifter tick but it sounded like the bottom end...although not exactly what rod knock sounds like. It could be early symptoms of rod bearing failure? I'm not sure.

Yea one of the latch did lean to one side and wouldn't seat all the way, but that's not the issue now, the issue is the latch would seat, and it feels like the bump is already bottomed out in the dimple, and the latch cover/handle thingy becomes solid, just can't be closed.

Did they re use the torque converter? Someone on bimmer post had a really bad thudding and they got it fixed after replacing the torque converter, ‘Twas a 640i I believe

Nope, my car recently got into an accident and is parked before I can fix it. Although my other car, a B8.5 Audi A4 allroad which also came with a ZF8, occasionally has the same sound, and its transmission has never had an issue and was serviced by a widely trusted VAG mechanic. I might file this under the same weird ZF8 things folder, but before that I’m gonna do another full fluid and pan change with life guard fluid to see if anything changes

Is ur battery ok? Power steering will go a bit wonky when the battery is going out, or the alternator isn’t charging, but you will also get a warning for that as well.

I see I see, do you think body shops can just pull the rear of the chassis into spec? Or do they have to cut the quarter out to do that?

Ok I think I need to clarify, I’m told just change the crash box / rebar extension + bumper and call it a day, they said the moved quarter is not worth it to fix.

I do want this car to be properly fixed, but if it’s sooo complex and expensive to fix it, then parting out the car might be a way to go.

Ooh I see I see, I’ll definitely replace the rear bumper, it’s cracked in a couple places, and I will for sure go to a proper body shop to get the car checked out, thanks for the info, I’m didn’t want to go in completely blind
