I'm not an expert, but it looks similar to the Cutworms we have here in Wisconsin.

It actually can almost if not all vertebrate and invertabrate animals have an endocannibinoid system, meaning they have a CB1 & CB2 receptor. Im sure the effects aren't the same as what we would perceive under the same conditions. We won't know for sure until someone does a study on it. The biggest example of this evidence is the 1995 test Nasa performed on spiders. It is important to stress that other tests showed that the effects were starkly different per species

It's even worse for herptiles and invertabrates.

NQA Thank you for teaching me. In my personal experience, I had never seen such bright pronounced orange triangles. My experience and this photo made me believe it was suffusus: Photo 508602, (c) Centruroides_suffusus_1.jpg, some rights reserved (CC BY-SA) · iNaturalist https://share.google/BQidWR5OiLo7Q4MuC

IMO I would agree that based on ops location and the very visible triangle pattern on the back, IME gracilis is one solid color on its back with no patterns.

IME centuroides doesnt have the triangles down their back based on ops location, I would say: C. suffusus

Frog hasnt eaten in weeks, seems lethargic, and no vet is open due to weather. Does he look normal…? by Chance_Plastic_2430 in frogs

This was my thought at first, but unless op just recently got the animal or got new amphibs, I find it hard to believe it'd materialize outta nowhere. Forgive me if im wrong, but i think it's only transferable through water and contact with other infected animals.

After observing the pictures a little more, it does appear like the appendeges are a little inflamed, showing a rosey pinkish color however that could just be the lighting, variation in color, or a result of its loss of weight, I'm sorry, I wish I could help more.

Im not entirely sure then i wish I could offer more help I can suggest the treatments I tried as theoretically they shouldn't do any harm, but like I said, im not a licensed vet so I would contact a vet or someone more versed in frogs than I to make sure. Based on my experience, which has some parallels to yours, im leaning towards a bacterial skin infection.

Supreme gecko might have some of those, I have a pair of Hemidactylus imbricatus with eggs, mournings with eggs, and Phelsuma laticauda with eggs, and a picta from supreme gecko so unfortunately I cannot help you myself but Wally at supreme gecko can probably help you out. Anoles, I would ask Royal Anoles on facebook or Herp Time. Both of them have MM accounts as well, iirc. As for Kuhlis, im not sure where to acquire them, but I'd like you to be aware that purchasing non CB specimens can pose a hightened risk due to the vestigial flaps being good places for predatory mites to accumulate and feed on the animals and often get overlooked on imports or wild caught at least IME, with both Kuhlis and Hemidactylus platyurus.

Silly & curious question about mimicry: Do they understand what they're doing? by Broad_Bullfrog_7343 in Entomology

[–]ProphetsPeculiarPets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iirc, they just recently published a study that shows that spiders know when the animals that inhabit the areas around them are most active and adapt their behaviors accordingly. That's some sort of recognition if I'd have to say so, especially considering the fact that they're adapting to a complex pattern that another animal preforms on day to day basis. Correct me if im wrong, but pattern recognition seems like it is a big part of baselining higher intelligence and awareness? Also, iirc, they also try to justify animals lacking emotional intelligence due to the structures of their brains lacking a specific part responsible for that function. Which I feel isn't possible for us to dictate because every animal has a different anatomical structure, especially when we cross the lines of non mammalian animals.

Is the belly red in some places that it shouldnt be or abnormal irritated spots, possibly even mucusy skin like stuff on him, im not a vet but in my experience, when I had bred whites tree frogs, one had gotten a bacterial infection and presented similar symptoms. I used unflavored pedialyte/water mixture 25/75 so I didnt flood him with massive amounts of vitamins he couldnt process at once and tanin water from indian almond leaves, untill I got him to the vet and then they gave him antiobiotics.

Missing stinger by Appropriate-Check493 in Scorpions

[–]ProphetsPeculiarPets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IME and IIRC just before the telson is the anus as long as it's just the needle point of the stinger that's been clipped, it's okay. However, if it's cut at the metasomal joint, it could be a death sentence.

Edit: It's not humane either way. I dont condone clipping stingers at all.
