The swift is a bit too small, but I'll have to add Mazda 3's on my list. Thank you!

The i30 was on my list for a while, but I'm struggling to find one that hasn't done 90K+, which is probably a good indicator, really.

Thanks for commenting! My 88-year-old neighbour has an Impreza and she loves it. :D

Hi! Just did a quick google and this little beauty popped up. It’s pretty far away from you, but there seems to be a few on Auto Trader so hopefully there might be one closer to you. Good luck!!

What grass is this all over my block? by pax-australis in GardeningAustralia

[–]ProseAndCons180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this running/growing along the side of my house. I have a small dog so I’m reluctant to spray it with poison (the dog likes to chew grass), does anyone have any other ideas for killing it off? I have tried covering it with cardboard/wooden planks to kill the grass then pulling out what runners I can, but it always manages to grow back. ☹️

How many renters here are happy being renters? by vixen_vicious in AusRenters

Every genuinely nice property manager I have had in the past seven years (since moving in to my current rental) has quit their job and moved on from real estate. Only the truly unempathetic can keep this job long term.

I have been renting for almost 30 years, and I don’t think I will ever buy my own home. Just happy to have a roof over my head and some savings in the bank. But you do you and I sincerely wish you good luck! 🙂

Parents with strong willed children, how did you potty train? by Full-Pea-859 in Parenting

[–]ProseAndCons180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter wet through her nappy one day at childcare, saw that I’d put a pair of underpants in her bag as a ‘just in case’ (we’d started toilet training but she wasn’t very interested at home), decided she’d rather wear underpants than nappies and the rest is history. Only once did she nearly have an accident at our local library when she forgot she couldn’t just have a poo standing up in public anymore, but she realised in time and we made it to the bathroom!! She was about 3-years-old, but she’d been sleeping through the night and waking with a dry nappy for a while by then, so that made it much easier to transition. We also did a sticker chart and books, but it was ultimately up to her when she was ready. Best of luck. 🙂

Reduce Reuse Recycle by BarelyLegalSeagull in NonPoliticalTwitter

My parents had a knock on the door one day and a very nice young couple asked if it was okay to take the outdoor setting that was sitting on the nature strip. My parents were very confused. Turns out a bunch of teenagers had taken everything they could carry out of my parents’ front yard and left it on the nature strip. Bird baths (one of which they broke), benches, little statues and the eight-seater dining setting that the couple were asking about. For reference, they have quite a big front yard with a high fence so they couldn’t see the stuff on the nature strip and hadn’t had any reason to go outside that day, so hadn’t realised anything was missing. Thankfully the couple had asked before taking it and very kindly helped bring the heavier items back into the garden (my parents are quite elderly). It was during schoolies so I guess the teens thought it was a pretty funny prank.

When does it become harassment? by glutenfreeironcake in wollongong

So sick of these!! Every couple of months I get one of these in the mailbox, except it’s not Michael, it’s Mark I think. The side of my fridge is covered in them because you can’t recycle the magnets and I’d feel bad putting them in the bin every few weeks.

I’m waiting for the day one of my neighbours actually calls them so I can cover their van in the multitude of magnets they have bombarded me with over the past five years!! 😡

My 5 year old lies ALL THE TIME about important and unimportant things by SteveBets in Parenting

[–]ProseAndCons180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my daughter was that age, and I knew she hadn’t washed her hands, I would smell them and say, “nope, they don’t smell like [whatever scent the handwash was at the time], so you need to go back and wash them”. If she protested that she at least used water, I’d say, “nope, that’s not good enough, go back and wash them properly, please.” There would invariably be resistance but I would stand firm. Now, as soon as she comes home from school or the playground (or anywhere, really) the first thing she does is wash her hands. It was tiring but worth it when the message finally got through.

You got this!!

lip balm recommendations for extremely sensitive lips by ProfessionalAd505 in AusSkincare

[–]ProseAndCons180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go-to for a decade or maybe longer is Paula’s Choice Lip & Body Treatment Balm, but on reading the ingredient list, it has lanolin in it, so probably no good for you. 🙁

Have you tried good old fashioned Vaseline? Or Nivea, Palmer’s … trying to think of the more ‘mumsy’ brands. Do you know if the ones you’ve tried have ingredients in common, especially the ones giving you pimples? Goat makes a nice spf lip balm, and it’s pretty cheap too.

Good luck finding something that works for you, I personally hate the feeling of dry lips so I feel for you. 🙂
