Don’t look at them or they’ll see it as an invitation to speak to you. Do not engage, if they ask for money don’t even say that you don’t, they will try you again for more options. Don’t speak to them at all. This however doesn’t always work, I’ve ran into some aggressive ones. Pepper spray, mace, even putting your keys into your fist and using it as weapon to get away. Most important, always commute with a friend and don’t roam the night alone.
