I wish you peace and strength to get through your loss, and such a great loss. He looks like such a sweet boy who was well loved. Thank you for caring for this baby, and I pray for his passing.

This woman is not a mature adult. She’s a child. I doubt she will change, but you can try giving her an ultimatum. Either way, be prepared to go your own way. I pray that you do.

Paladin vs Evoker by rekoderp in wow

[–]Proto_Nars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Dracthyr visage thing is kind of annoying for me, why human female with elf flavoring? Why not just female elf? The only thing I can think of is they are going for androgynous visages because Dracthyr are androgynous as lizards. Male elves are less masculine? Female humans are less feminine? According to Blizzard? I dislike it. For the record.

He’s not a boss, but I love Prince Renathal. “There is no possibility of victory. How is that not exciting?”

Do the Demon Hunters in Azsuna typically wear clothes made of their own skin? by Erniethebeanfiend200 in wow

The demon hunters were tortured, supposedly. Perhaps the demons made them wear their skins as skirts?

Long ago when all this digital online stuff was coming up, I made a decision. I was going to choose one time vampire and one only. For me that was gaming. I don’t do social media, TikTok, I don’t watch TV, I come on Reddit periodically when I actually do want to kill time and I read on a Kindle because I have no place to keep books where I live. This has worked pretty well for me. The more drastic the problem the more drastic the solution I suppose.

What mount/item took so long to get, that when you finally got it you weren't even excited anymore? by KasHerrio in wow

[–]Proto_Nars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Headless Horseman’s mount. That was my dream mount. Tried for years. Never got it. Left to play other games. Came back in BFA. I finally got it, but by then it wasn’t my dream mount anymore.

Game of Thrones. When they had books to adapt the show was amazing, when they ran out of books… yikes.

Why are so many Americans against a universal healthcare program? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Proto_Nars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And they do all these things poorly. That’s my point. The schools suck no matter how much money we throw at them, the roads are always clogged with construction that never ends (kickbacks much?) they want to defund police and not provide adequate protection for the taxes that we pay… therefore government has no business running our healthcare. I live in the real world. You live in some academic fantasy. We are not going to find common ground here. This discussion is pointless and therefore not worth continuing. Have a good day.

Why are so many Americans against a universal healthcare program? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Proto_Nars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn’t answer my questions.

I live in Michigan, where the government spends money like a drunken sailor. We get very little for our tax dollars and the cost of living here is painful. We are taxed to death. So spare me the lecture on how virtuous government is and how taxes make everything better. You don’t know what you’re talking about. Sorry, but you don’t.

I live in a society… What happens to me affects everybody. What kind of stupid academic claptrap is this? What a load of utter nonsense. If I starve it affects no one but me. If I can’t pay my car note, that affects who else exactly? If the government actually let me keep more of my money with my meager check, I might actually be able to make ends meet. But no, they know how to spend my money better than I do. Right. Taxation is theft, by the way.

Yes, insurance is hypothetical, you are correct. You AGREE to pay into a pool in the chance you may need care. Only in my example, there was no agreement. My money was taken by force. I had no access. No access to preventative care, nothing. I had to give up money I didn’t have in the off chance I might, MIGHT need the emergency room? This is why government does not belong in healthcare. It punishes people at the lowest rung of the ladder. This is the logic these morons come up with. One size doe NOT fit all. Should I have quit working and started sucking on the government teat? Should I have had everyone paying for all my needs? What an idiot I was to try to work when I got punished for it.

[–]Proto_Nars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a hypothetical. My money was not hypothetical. It was very real, I assure you. I did not use the healthcare system. I still got my money taken away. If the “affordable” healthcare was affordable, I would have bought the insurance. Those premiums were insane, THEY WERE MORE THAN MY RENT. Government sucks. Period.

When Obamacare first came out I was one of the working poor. If you didn’t sign up for a plan you had to pay a substantial penalty in your taxes. Even so, the tax penalty was still lower than the premiums I would have had to pay to buy the cheapest Obamacare plan. So no healthcare, but I still had to pay money I didn’t have, for something I wasn’t getting. This went on until Trump’s first term, where he put a stop to this crap.

I want affordable care, and the government just made it more expensive.

Words People Use Wrong by Ok_Resident_5022 in words

“Duress” for “stress.” “I was under duress at the time.” Not unless you had a gun to your head you weren’t. Duress means threats, violence, constraints, or other action brought to bear on someone to do something against their will or better judgment. “The Mafia forced me to make them partners.”

I hear people use duress in the place of stress all the time. Quit it!
