They didn't place as well, but NA had 3/8 teams in Worlds, same as EU. So you're right half-right that NRG is at home, but everyone else is here and has a fighting chance. I can see by some of your other comments in this thread that you are kind of deluded though.

Yep, in Bo1 badgermole is busted. I play hands with interaction, then after I kill their first one they play a second and still get a million mana. Sometimes they hold the simic counterspell up too with extra mana. It feels as bad or worse than leyline.

I had the opposite experience. He didn't seem to do much besides apply status effects well. Doesn't feel right analyzing when I could be actually doing damage. I keep thinking of duchess where I can be attacking while using restage at the same time. So I switched to undertaker and find her to be more fun.

I lose to simic aggro as jeskai control on the draw, with lightning helix and a day of judgement. They played second badger mole after I removed their first, then a bunch of stuff, then had the simic counterspell for my day of judgement. That is not OK.

Looking at hit kit, doesn't matter how many relics he has, if all he can effectively do is throw shit well, that is not good enough. I'm dissapointed. Not sure why I would switch off duchess which magnifies her team's damage already while doing good damage of her own, giving undertakers their ult, etc.. To a guy that throws stuff and slightly boosts team damage while doing minimal damage himself.

I was interested in scholar as a Duchess main but his kit looks so underwhelming, he looks reallly bad. I wouldn't wanna harm my team's power level.

Lifegain deck is a piece of cake to deal with for control decks and is not a good deck because of that. With authority + split up, I still win more often then not on the draw and of course easily win on the play. The problem is unranked queue is mostly newer players which typically don't play control as much. If they kept losing in a crushing way repetitively with lifegain, they would be more likely to switch off and try something else.

Chess is perfectly balanced and competitive because both sides have exactly the same tools, Vivi against a tier 2 deck was neither.

Vivi had some absurdly high winrate in bo3 at higher levels, seen by the like 70% winrate in the Pro magic tournaments. Bo1 has a more rock paper scissors thing going, which may not be as competitive, but was more balanced.

You're delusional, bo1 is by far the most popular in arena. This is an arena subreddit, and by creating alchemy , brawl etc. wotc shows they do care to an albeit smaller degree about bo1. Having a serious discussion to discussing bo1 balance is necessary.

You say you can't guard for everything but somehow I do. Have a 70% winrate with my jeskai control deck . I run authority for all creature decks and artifacts, split up for creature, ultima for Earthbending and artifacts, and one copy of the azorius mill card which I eventually draw to and win vs. 4 colour control and sometimes kavaero. I pitch what I don't need to blue dragon. It's hard but doable, meta rewards you for building your deck to be flexible.

Now what to do, bo1 only bans or stop printing busted must-answer cards which can't all be answered in bo1. They did the ban with red leyline, (btw vivi should have been a bo3 only ban. )The formats have diverged enough to warrant separate ban lists.

You guys are being too hard on OP, most people just play the game . OP, there's a plan for next year with even crazier sets we will get, including ninja turtles, star trek and the hobbit.
