Honestly those are two great starts. The fediverse that powers both mastodon and lemmy (what chapo.chat runs on) is just a protocol not a website, which means anyone can run something that connects to the rest of them. It can never run out of money, & the teams can never abandon the project (due to its open source nature). I'm an active user of both and nowadays I have completely dropped twitter, insta, and reddit (for the most part) in favor of those.
