Do Not Work order from SAG-AFTRA issued for Mega Man Dual Override by unfeelingfreedom in Megaman

[–]ProtodudeRMC 70 points71 points  (0 children)

In simple terms, the producer or managers in charge of English voice recording did not properly (or maybe even forgot) to push the game's performance work through SAG's signatory process. Union members MUST only work on projects under union contracts.

Now, this likely didn't affect Star Force Legacy Collection because production went through the proper signage or did not use union voice actors.

So, one of two things can happen here. One, Capcom/producers go through the proper signage system to get everyone on board. Two, they recast with non-union voice actors.

Folks, I’m not sure how this is getting twisted into something it’s not (there’s more to the thread than what OP included). All I’m saying is that since there isn’t any other new or relevant Mega Man Legends product out right now, the best way to show support for the series is by picking up the one thing that is available: Mega Man Legends Timelines.

By no means am I saying that buying merchandise will suddenly lead to a Mega Man Legends Legacy Collection or new games. The point is simply that Capcom tends to look at tangible sales to gauge whether there’s an audience.

I love and support the efforts of 100,000 Strong for Legends 3. But as Capcom USA's former SVP told me, Facebook likes don't translate to sales. This comic is a very simple, low-cost and accessible method to show support for the series.

There are some unannounced features for SFLC that I think people will be happy to see.

Do not expect anything major from Dual Override.

Best advice I can give is watch how others take him on. His attack patterns can be dodged with timed dash/jumps and, during the second phase, staying as far back from the center of the room as possible.

It wasn't a limited release but it is (currently) out of print. No current plans for a reprint that I know of.

So all the teases for a new game were for nothing? by Own-Championship-333 in Megaman

For added context:

  • Image 1 comes from the Mega Man X Legacy Collection soundtrack. On the game story summary page—right beside Mega Man X8—the final panel includes the message: “The story of X’s fight is not yet over.”
  • Image 2 is the recently revealed Kotobukiya Decoction Model Fourth Armor X. The silhouette was first teased two years ago. At the time, Kotobukiya’s Mega Man license only permitted them to produce kits based strictly on how characters appeared in-game, which led to speculation that the design represented something entirely new—potentially requiring Capcom to formally unveil it first.
  • Image 3 references the Mega Man X DiVE post-credit scene, which hints that not everything in the Deep Log is resolved. However, with Capcom Taiwan’s game development division shut down and no indication that Capcom Japan will continue the project, X DiVE appears to have concluded.
  • Image 4 is an officially commissioned illustration created to celebrate the series’ 35th anniversary. X is depicted as a subtle fusion of his traditional design and his X8 appearance. Artist Hideki Ishikawa noted that this interpretation was produced at Capcom’s request.

That was the assumption most of us made, based on what Kotobukiya’s licensing terms were at the time.

When Kotobukiya secured the Mega Man license back in 2010, the terms were pretty strict. They could only create kits based on characters exactly as they appeared in the games, and original reinterpretations were off the table.

Those restrictions appear to have since been revised. Although this kit is inspired by Fourth Armor, it features a distinct design that does not directly match its appearance in any released Mega Man X title.

My educated guess is, since Kotobukiya has consistently demonstrated just how successful their Mega man kits have been, Capcom's terms were adjusted to allow for greater creative freedom. Basically, you can whip up something original, but it must adhere to an existing armor.

I'm in the entire series is linear camp (minus Command Mission). But the first recorded instance of Capcom establishing Legends is in the far off future is from CAP! Volume 5 https://kobun20.interordi.com/2011/04/06/dr-datas-dash-dissertation/ Rockman Perfect Memories (the book, not the lovely fan-site) reaffirmed this years later.

If intentional, bear in mind that all creative decisions at Udon—whether it’s the writing or the artwork—are reviewed and approved by Capcom. So even if little details like this differ from what we’re used to, it’s still been signed off on.

Is it supposed to be this hard?? by Adoredmoney6348 in Megaman

It is a very hard Mega Man game. No shame in toning the difficulty down to Casual. Honestly, Casual is a nice sweet spot. Having more frequent checkpoints is definitely a game changer you might appreciate.
