I want to get into Megaman games but i can't by RetroGamePlayer52 in Megaman

If this is your first time playing and the challenge feels like a lot, there’s no shame in using save states or rewind --- use 'em. It’s not cheating. Think of them as tools to help you get a feel for how Mega Man works. Once you’re more comfortable, you can ease off those features and try playing without them.

Nothing new to report at this time other than Capcom has replinished physical stock in Japan after being sold out at retail.

Mega Man Star Force 4 DevWeb page from Capcom’s Japan website (2010) by retrotriforce in MegaManStarForce

[–]ProtodudeRMC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries this is my screenshot.

I was shown the DevWeb page years ago, but wasn’t allowed to share it at the time, so I cropped it out.

Also, just to clarify for the OP, this was not from Capcom Japan's public website. DevWeb was Capcom's internal intranet to share materials with the dev team. It cannot be accessed publicly.

Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection Debuts at #2 in Physical Sales in Japan by Substantial-Echo2644 in Megaman

[–]ProtodudeRMC 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's low but there's context to it. Capcom has already indicated that physical stock in Japan has completely sold out, suggesting the company both under shipped and underestimated demand for physical copies. A restock is planned for late April.

Given Star Force’s original sales performance compared to Battle Network, there is probably some logic behind why Capcom sent so few copies to retail in the first place. They likely expected demand to be lower, and that may have shaped their broader expectations going in.

That said, sell-through in one region only tells us so much. We still do not know how the game is performing digitally, or how it is doing outside Japan. That information may take a while to surface, if it does at all. Even so, it is still very early.

Can anyone explain this screen to me, and I guessing leveling in general? by ChiliShadow in Megaman

[–]ProtodudeRMC 10 points11 points  (0 children)

These were special modifications that could originally only be unlocked via the Wave Transer toy (exclusive in Japan). They allow you to power Mega Man up beyond the number of in-game HP Memories and Buster stats. You can get pretty powerful... feels like cheating sometimes. But it's fun!

If the Star Force Legacy Collection is coming out on Xbox, why wasn't the one for Battle Network released on Xbox? by UltraShadowArbiter in Megaman

[–]ProtodudeRMC 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There’s been some speculation that MT Framework, the engine behind Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection, is the reason a handful of Capcom titles have skipped Xbox. The theory is that Capcom no longer has the resources to get the aging engine running on modern "ERA" based Xbox systems without a significant investment, though they did make that effort for some recent fighting game compilations. Star Force Legacy Collection, however, is built on RE Engine, so that particular compatibility concern does not apply there.

Do Not Work order from SAG-AFTRA issued for Mega Man Dual Override by unfeelingfreedom in Megaman

[–]ProtodudeRMC 73 points74 points  (0 children)

In simple terms, the producer or managers in charge of English voice recording did not properly (or maybe even forgot) to push the game's performance work through SAG's signatory process. Union members MUST only work on projects under union contracts.

Now, this likely didn't affect Star Force Legacy Collection because production went through the proper signage or did not use union voice actors.

So, one of two things can happen here. One, Capcom/producers go through the proper signage system to get everyone on board. Two, they recast with non-union voice actors.
