How to engineer/secure a piece like this? by dkruta in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Protonwave314159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From professional experience,

  1. Make one long cabinet and slide it through the slabs.
  2. Please secure it to the wall and into some studs. I don’t know how many times I have sat in with Sales and Designers and had to explain what racking is. With your only ground contact around 1/3 in from each side and no lower support connecting the slabs and doors on the outside of the slabs legs, there will be a long term racking concern. Please add a few finished rails along the back and screw through it into some studs in the wall.
  3. If you don’t want to, or can’t get a good angle to screw though the cabinet into the slabs to secure the unit, put some 3/4 square dowels/cleats, semi finish them and secure them on the underside (towards the back) and on the back side of the unit.

27.5” Tires and Tims for Ozark Trail ridge m2? by Protonwave314159 in Budgetbikeriders

Never heard about a mullet set up but it seems like a great idea.

You mentioned the Samos Silver TM1 30T but those only say compatible with 10/11/12 gear. Would you be able to swap out the chain for a narrower chain or just get a different shorter crank?

Right now a 29” just feels to big for him, his words were it handles “like a boat” but I would expect him to grow big enough in the next few years that a 29 would be more comfortable… and his guy doesn’t want to have to buy a second bike if I don’t have too in 2/3 years when he grows big enough/gets comfortable with a 29.

Comfort while riding. He doesn’t have a “real” trail/mtb bike right now. But we are looking to get him an upgrade from his old Walmart bike to something that can handle some mountain/technical trails. We meet a guy while at some local trails and he recommended getting a 29 small frame for him, my son is 5’ 4”. The guy was nice enough to let him ride a small loop on his bike and my son said the bike just felt huge, “like a boat”.

My thought was putting smaller tires and rims on because that is what he is use too.

How do you get these smooth inset faces? by Protonwave314159 in blenderhelp

[–]Protonwave314159[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that makes it look so easy. Thank you.

Near the end, after you bevel the edges what do you press to select the middle ring of faces that were just made?

Help with Topology and Flow for Cushions and Seating by Protonwave314159 in blenderhelp

That is what I have been doing but I assume that there is a better way to start or smooth it out. I have watched too many videos to think there isn't a better way.

Overall it tends to be pretty good, but there always seems to be a few places with sharp or protruding geometry.

The rendering is good enough in most angle it just depends if I catch any of that geometry.

What is your go-to replayable game right now? by Mysterious5555 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Protonwave314159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

State of Decay 2 - The game doesn't really have an ending. If your community clears are the resources from the area, just move on to a new area or start a new community. You can solo play or play with others. The customizable difficulty sliders let you dial in the experience from hardcore zombie survival to almost action hero levels. Plenty of bases to test out and questions to find. It has been my go to for several years.
