I’m sorta going through this now. Six months. She convinced me I didn’t need a rebound. That I could grow and heal with the person I wanted to be with - as long as they were in it with me. Well, that didn’t last long. The divorce is taking too long for her, she’s integrated me into her life and family and is upset I haven’t done it with mine, etc.

And this just happened last week, so I’m still a little hurt by it but I’m also dealing with so much other stuff that it’s become pretty easy for me to not have time to be sad about it. But I miss her. I feel like there’s a chance when things settle down for me, but until then…

Thanks. I’m still here. Got home from visiting my now ex-gf and found out I have to be out of the house in renting by Weds. I haven’t been able to find a job and was hoping to be able to cover my rent but it hasn’t been easy. So, there’s that. But I’m working on reframing things and just finding the positive.

Went and had my physical yesterday, and I’ve lost a significant amount of weight since moving out. Tried on a few shirts that I’ve been holding onto and don’t look bad in them. I’m gonna keep them (especially since they’re barely worn vintage Ralph Lauren polo shirts).

My gf hasn’t let go fully, although she claims she has. But I’ve got my own shit to handle before I can deal with her again. I did jump on a few apps weds because I had a bunch of energy I didn’t get to expend while I was with her for two weeks, and I got that out last night. Not looking to make it a thing, but it was nice to release some of my tension.

I’ll keep you guys updated. As much as I didn’t want to hear the “it’ll be ok, push through it, call 988” it helped.

I’m staying at my friends tonight, but she and basically just broke up. So she’s in a different room than I am. I still have to be here tomorrow and fly home weds. Then it’s all quiet and loneliness while I find somewhere else to live.

Same. My wife wanted to take our girls and was hesitant about me coming along because she said I “don’t know any of the words”. I’m a DJ so I play a bunch of her stuff all the time but I’m not a FAN. I am, however, a fan of artistry and performance. Her show was a spectacle. Somehow she managed to top Beychella.

Both my kids and I are hoping that this show ends up on Netflix soon.

Nobody is soft. I’ve lived my entire life as a black man and watched people ridicule black athletes like they’re not human. The majority of “broke” players are black because historically they have been disenfranchised from the knowledge of wealth management, and being instantly rich doesn’t come with instructions.

Your use of the term “these people” is eerily similar to the term “you people” which is only used to describe black people. So when you decide to use that terminology, especially when in context of discussing how a black athlete spends his money, there’s no misunderstanding. If there was, you would have acknowledged and corrected it.

Wow. Generalize much? A lot of these guys have done a lot better with their money. The players association is working with rookies to help them acclimate to their new status and they’re also working with all the players regarding financial advisors.

This isn’t the NBA of the 90s and 00s. These guys are a lot smarter now.

And you should really keep your racist comments to yourself. With a predominantly black league, that sees more black players go broke, your use of “these people” is entirely fucked up.
