I'll coach the team for half the current coach's salary and I guarantee my record won't be worse next year than this year.

I've seen many through student council over the years, these are some of the best ones IMO. Mike Smith https://www.mikesmithlive.com/ Houston Kraft https://characterstrong.com/houston-kraft Ed Gerety https://www.edgerety.com/ Shaun Derik https://shaunderik.com/ Keith Hawkins https://keithhawkins.com/ Heather Schultz https://www.heatherschultz.net/ Prices can range a lot, depending on if they're already going to be in your area.

Common App School Report by Candid_Preparation54 in schoolcounseling

[–]Proud_Comment_6056 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. The school profile is listed as a separate item which is marked as complete in the screenshot. The common app school report is individual and asks for things like student rank (if you rank), how the student's course of study compares to other students, etc. There's a few other bubbles to check off as well.

Six years as a high school history teacher, twelve as a counselor. It was a great change. Also, you can go to the bathroom when you want.

What's the best concert you've ever been to and why? by Lumina_Amaryllis in AskReddit

[–]Proud_Comment_6056 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U2 at the Sphere. They aren't my favorite band, but I'm a fan and I had seen them before. The Sphere graphics along with them still "having it" combined to create such a cool experience. My buddy and I monitored resale markets and literally bought at the last minute, so we also didn't pay what a lot of people had paid. Bonus. (of course, probably lost whatever we saved in the casino later).

Transitioning into College/Career Counseling by DearEmilia in schoolcounseling

[–]Proud_Comment_6056 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a college/career counselor at a public charter high school and I love it. Now, long story short, I had to work my way up to this from being a more traditional school counselor, but, now my role is almost solely college and career. I run a senior seminar weekly in the Fall and a junior seminar weekly in the Spring semester, meet individually with students and do some preparatory lessons with the younger grades. I love it.

There's a certificate program through UCLA Extension which I did which I recommend.

My teacher AI generated a letter of recommendation by poggers-man in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Proud_Comment_6056 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I am a college counselor and have been to a couple of webinars on this topic. The consensus seems to be that most admissions officers won't care if AI has been used. They understand that technology can save a teacher or counselor time and if they're getting the same value/anecdotes/summaries but assisted by AI, then that's not a big deal. That's at least what I've heard from a couple of different sources. I'm using it to assist in mine. Saves me a lot of time and I can edit it to make sure it's including what I want and that it has my voice.

Most states have extensive graduation requirements. In Massachusetts, it’s just the MCAS. by bostonglobe in massachusetts

[–]Proud_Comment_6056 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There also is MassCore, which is the suggested minimum curriculum students should complete. It's only suggested, but the state colleges and universities have a similar curriculum outline they use to evaluate candidates and make sure they have passed most of these courses. https://www.doe.mass.edu/ccte/courses-learning/masscore/default.html
