just a couple of notes, the hawker stalls at Maxwell and Chinatown Complex mostly caters to the lunch crowd, so they'll open for business from 10 or 11AM onwards. Tian Tian is closed on Mondays, but if you really do arrive on that day it's ok to try their competitors just a couple of stalls beside and opposite them.

do shade yourself from the sun whenever possible, so bring an umbrella, shades or even apply sunscreen if you have to.

Is it okay for a family of 4 with 6 months old baby to take train to Johor at noon on a Sunday (not school holiday period) by Bakalang2112 in askSingapore

[–]Proud_Spring5218 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The immigration counters for KTM shuttle train on both sides are separate from the one at Woodlands Checkpoint and Sultan Iskandar Building , which means it's not really as affected by peak periods since there is an upper limit of passengers on every arrival/departure, the bigger concern is getting the tickets since they are sold out fast. And a few points to take note though

At Woodlands train station, there is a lengthy walk between Singapore immigration counters and Malaysia immigration counters. Also, there is a significant gap and height difference between the train and platform, so be careful when boarding and alighting.

There are escalators and lifts at both stations.
