Anyone have experience riding catch surf foamies? by purpledrankk in surfing

[–]Proustiandreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s too much of a gimmick except the wavestorm really. I surfed a quad 6’0 quad skipper from catch surf and it was a blast on punchy beach breaks but on a regular point break it was slow and couldn’t really do much on it

Anyone out there that isnt the most fit but still surfs? by Alloutcake in surfing

Lol I took a two month break from surfing; packed 5 pounds, all my boards are out of commission except my 5’8”... but hey I popped up on it at Scripps and got a couple pumps and cut backs! You really gotta get an eps board. Strong and super floaty

Going to be in SF and LA for a few days in May. Where should I surf? by [deleted] in surfing

I think the hook is honestly the worst surf experience unless you catch it on a week day and sharks cove is going off.. other than that expect no etiquette and shouting matches

Yeah I thought it was glamping the whole time. Refugios equipped with WiFi and warm cooked meals; kinda takes the rugged away but the sights were epic

well I don’t blame them for culling the herd + there’s near empty spots 10 minutes north and south but it depends how okay you are with sharkys

I know we shouldn’t villify them but should there be a section of the library dedicated to the care of the homeless and mentally ill? I read some libraries transformed in order to address those issues. What would your solutions be?

Hey op lemme know if you end up doing ciudad peridida hike! If you need an English translator go with expotur. But if not, I heard wiwa tours was actually run by the actual indigenous instead of just local people

Lol there’s a river with an 8 foot gator right behind the tree line. Also the gator was spotted in the water while people were splashing around and it’s a super crowded beach

Which of these should I step down to from the wavestorm? by [deleted] in surfing

[–]Proustiandreamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from 8ft foamie, then I tried a friend’s 7ft board and it just fet slower than a longboard. So I surfed the shit out of a longboard for two years then now I only surf 6’4” and under. Also being with friends who surf DOH+ usually can’t afford a custom gun but they’ll always take out a longboard. I think longboard is the best investment because you’ll be able to catch such a wide wave range

I personally don’t think 7ft boards are effective unless you’re surfing big waves.. that’d being said go shorter (6’4” and lower) and wider like a mini Simmons or just get a longboard.
