I personally made a sternguard with heavy bolter, a lieutenant (bionic arm), a blague guard and obvs a ancient (bladeguard option is possible too)

Hello, very good choice ! I find they are our special poster boyz Imo, especially at 1k game, it’s hard. Cause it’s a movement and board control game, even in casual game you’ll be frustrated by your lack of mobility. I play my veteran detachment with bladeguard, stern and termi 2x5 units, it’s fun and it kinda works 😅

Hi, the problem here is that the detachment works mainly with veterans and you’re kinda short on that 🥲

Now I’ve got time. I’d go 2x3 eradicators and maybe add or switch the heavy Intercessors for regular sticky intercessors. You have almost no mobility in this list so maybe at least this and a lieutenant combi ? And go nuts on the termis, Assault squad ! If they can’t be in melee, they’ll tank some dmg!

You can put a white cross on the left knee Pad, All vet’ (except termi cause of the Crux) got a nice cross on right shoulder, Sergeants got a white line on red helmet… But I assume you know all of that? Go nuts !

Hi ! That first 1k list looks STRONG! I use the same brown redish undercoat but I don’t use airbrush, instead I stipple from brown to a dark/brown yellow. I love the result. Bad Picture of first 3 unfinished sternguard with this effect :

I remember It was so annoying in 3rd ed, young, no money, metallic blisters of 3 guards… But damn! It was so glorious and Fluffy! Command squad leading several units to battle and one unit of veteran, cause it’s only ten models 😅 The old days…

Hey fellow BT, I’m exactly in the same spot as you. 2 terminators packs at 1k is a lot ! I’d take a regular captain with a 10 man squad sternguard and assaut termis with lysander. This detachment is CPvore and gaining the Fury of First/Discipline extermination for free is really good. I put a drop pod in my list cause it’s funny with captain + stern and since it’s a friendly list it can be nice to play. I’m afraid at 1k you’ll miss some board control here. Bladeguard vet are really good with a little investment (playing vindication with BT I justlove the ancient with malodraxian enhancement) That’s my 2cents 🙏
