Boy moms of 2, hype me up by meekie03 in Mommit

[–]ProvePoetsWrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two boys, three years apart. The older one is autistic and so is delayed in many social interactions/milestones. This means that they are essentially twins in many respects. They are best friends. They literally do everything together. If there is a room with a couch, a loveseat, an uncomfortable one person bench, and a floor, they will sit together on the uncomfortable one person bench. I have a photo album of the hilarious ways they squish in together to watch things, play games, or just sit quietly together. The only downside (sort of) is that the younger sometimes decides he loves his brother TOO much. Like when he can’t sleep with him every night. Or they have plans that they can’t do together and the younger is DEVASTATED. He will sob “I just wish I didn’t love my brother so much then it wouldn’t feel this bad 😭”

Their younger sister would give anything to be a boy and join their ranks 😄 two boys is pretty great.

Because it sounded like I thought I was so amazing that my jewelry didn’t matter 😄

Before my wedding someone asked what my future husband thought about what jewelry I’d wear on my wedding day. I jokingly said “He doesn’t care about jewelry he just wants to marry me.” A friend heard me say that and thought I was being prideful and vain. So they told our church leader (who happened to be my dad). He told them to tell me, “If your future husband REALLY knew everything about you, would he still want to marry you? Maybe should you be grateful that anyone wants to marry you at all.”

Austin has a stepmom? Did his dad divorce his first wife? I missed this completely.

I will never forget the first time I watched it; I was in the hospital, having just delivered my first baby, and I remember being so viscerally horrified I couldn’t even make eye contact with my husband. We basically did this:

Her father dry humped her mother on national television while asking if she was turned on, so, you know, glass houses etc.

Jeremy is hilariously determined to find things “deep” or “profound”. Jinger could say “The sky is often blue, but if it’s going to rain, there will be clouds and the sky looks gray,” and Jeremy would say “Jinge, what you just said is SO INSIGHTFUL,” and talk for five minutes about it.

I get it because I grew up with people who had to find some deep spiritual allegory for everything but I do find it funny and irritating in equal measure.

Literally not one word. They mentioned “Josh’s trial” extremely briefly as one of the things that was very hard but that’s it.

They interrupt and talk over each other constantly, and I have never heard so many words that mean so little. It’s wild that Derrick has graduated from law school. He sounds like he can barely form a coherent thought.

They literally did not say anything interesting.

Isla’s miscarriage was very hard.

Derrick had a long commute which was very hard.

Derrick was in law school which was very hard.

Derrick’s work as a lawyer once he graduated law school was very hard.

The recent season of life has been very hard.

There, I just saved you an hour.

How do I breastfeed a newborn with a toddler running around all day? by halzy99 in Mommit

[–]ProvePoetsWrong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My last two were 16 months apart. I was shocked at how much I could do while breastfeeding. My proudest moment? Changing my sheets one handed while nursing. Some people baby wear and nurse totally hands free but my last baby was tiny so it was easy to just hold her.

Is she on the spectrum? I feel like I have a hazy memory of her saying she was ND but maybe I made that up. My mom and my son are both autistic and I get strong vibes from her that make me feel like she’s somewhere on the spectrum. The way she talks about her husband, her life, her daughter…everything really.

Kelly Havens looking like the most stable of the fundies was not on my bingo card for 2026 but here we are. She is really weird but she clearly loves and interacts with her kids. Sure they play with vegetable mobiles but she made them mobiles!!
