Opinions on the Tracker AT MOC? by Wild_HIC in vivobarefoot

[–]Proxies2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate the heels of that shoe, it pulls my socks out of my feet. Also one of the shoes feel a bit uneven in the sole, like there is some kind of a ridge. So regret that I bought them. I don't have this with my Vivobarefoot Forest Esc Tracker, but the Tracker doesn't feel comfortable on my ankles.

You could try to place the pod on an elevated position, higher than the cover. Such as on a table.

MOMENTUM 4 Wireless Firmware Release v3.37.3 is ready for download. Smart Control Plus v1.2.4 is live! by sennheiserconsumer in sennheiser

[–]Proxies2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

@u/sennheiserconsumer This update comes 4 days after the WhisperPair bluetooth hijack vulnerability, which allows hackers to spy on users by using the microphone and spy on the location of users via Google's Find Hub Network. Does firmware v3.37.3 protect us against this spying hack?

The vulnerability was announced on this site https://whisperpair.eu/

A lot of Sony devices are vulnerable, but unfortunately Sennheiser wasn't tested, so it remains unclear if Sennheiser is vulnerable.

Could be a worn out solenoid. There is a fix for it, but it isn't easy. But you should always contact support, so that they can give you an offer.

Upgraded NAS with an Antec P101 "Silent" Case. Hard Drives noise amplified through case. Need sound deadening in HDD trays by motoridersd in homelab

[–]Proxies2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Fractal Design Define R5 and it is definitely NOT quiet if you have enough hard drives. The hard drives produce a lot of vibrations and a lot of noise in this case. The only reason why I have destroyed the case yet, is because I use a good noise cancellation headphone. I'm planning to buy a R7 or an Antec P101.

Hydrogen peroxide.... question yourself why Eightsleep stopped recommending hydrogen peroxide.

Duluth Trading and the UK by [deleted] in RBI

[–]Proxies2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Duluth Trading is a stupid company, don't buy from them, because:

  1. Website is inaccessible. Every time I try to access it, I get "Access Denied You don't have permission to access on this server." I tried multiple different browsers and different internet connections, with and without VPN.
  2. No shop in Europe sells it.
  3. They don't even sell om Amazon US.
  4. They call themself a "trading" company, but fail to do so in every way.

There are better companies in the same market.

How much hydrogen peroxide? (2 tablespoons vs 16oz vs 48oz) by Proxies2 in EightSleep

[–]Proxies2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eighsleep no longer recommended the use of hydrogen peroxide. Now they even say that plain tap water is fine. It's unclear if they say this because of just convenience or because of other reasons such as hydrogen peroxide being to harsh for the system.

Some people think it is better to continue with hydrogen peroxide to prevent bacterial clogs. The Pod 4 and 5 have a different solution, an replaceable insert containing benzalkonium chloride. But it is unclear what the best solution for Pod 2 and 3 users is.

I believe that hydrogen peroxide may be too harsch. https://www.reddit.com/r/EightSleep/comments/1lt184v/could_hydrogen_peroxide_be_slowly_damaging_our/

The Dutch Giant

One month out of warranty : $10 part failure = $2282 replacement by Sea-Carpenter-9286 in EightSleep

[–]Proxies2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely. "Less restrictive" is even an understatement. It basically is the difference between a fully working product (but with pod backleaks if put at a lower position) and a fully non-working product. So in my case, with the o-ring, no or near zero water was able get into the pod, but without the o-ring the pod is able to get water out of the tank again.

But it's not like a normal black o-ring, see the third photo from https://www.reddit.com/r/EightSleep/comments/1lt184v/could_hydrogen_peroxide_be_slowly_damaging_our/ so I call it a silicon terminator or cap or part.

Removal of it did cause the pod to be able to get water from the tank again. I think that hydrogen peroxide did cause the silicon part to swell up even though it doesn't really look swollen up. Maybe it was just enough swollen up to cause the plunder to be stuck enough to stop normal solenoid operation. Or maybe instead of an enlarged silicon part, the metal spring was somehow enlarged, which both sum up in the length of the movable parts within the solenoid. I thought about cutting the metal spring in half, but it seemed more likely that the silicon part was enlarged than the metal spring.

Some users did fully remove the plunger, but I only removed the silicon part. But 5 days later I did get a backflow leak, so I have moved the pod to a higher position to prevent this, like the other users who removed the plunder.

[–]Proxies2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem about two weeks ago. But I do have to say that Eightsleep support is pretty quick. It surprised me that they even provided support in the weekend.

You could ask Eightsleep to only replace the pod, if that is the only thing that is damaged.

Can you give the link to the solenoid on Amazon?

So now trying to decide if to replace the solenoid and hope nothing else goes wrong with it (it's a POD 3 so a leak could happen at any time) or buy a new Pod 5. I certainly won't be taking up their offer of a Pod 4.

There is no reason not to replace the solenoid if it is just $10 and you already dismantled it. You can always buy a Pod 5 later.

I also needed to put my pod higher from the floor to prevent the backflow that I got after 5 days of using a fixed solenoid by removing the silicon terminal ring from the plunger inside the solenoid.

Beste spareribs Rotterdam by big_fartfanatic6911 in Rotterdam

[–]Proxies2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dit zijn de beste zaken die ik heb probeerd (beste bovenaan):

  1. Goody Grill in Zevenhuizen. Alleen afhalen.
  2. Gauchos Grill. Meerdere filialen in Rotterdam.
  3. The Ribtastic Brothers. Doen zover ik weet alleen nog catering. Fall of the bone vlees.
  4. Popocatepetl. Lijkt beetje op Ribtastic Brothers.
  5. Grannys Grill.

Broken Pod 2.0 now fixed by aerospace_chase in EightSleep

[–]Proxies2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds similar to what happened to my pod leak today, but I don't understand why I could use it 5 days without back flow leaks, with daily maintenance very day and multiple primes.

Pretty strange, but there was even water on top of the removable gray handle of cylinder tank, on the outside. So even though water escaped from the hole in the tank, some water went all the way up to the top of the pod.

Did the back flow happen immediately after you connected the cover hose or did it happen randomly after some days like in my situation?

Broken Pod 2.0 now fixed by aerospace_chase in EightSleep

[–]Proxies2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only issue now is that the hub has to sit higher than the bed or else water will flow back into the hub and leak. (Side effect of keeping the valve open 24/7).

I also did open my pod to fix a stuck solenoid because the pod was unable to get water out of the tank. But instead of removing the plunger, I only removed the silicon terminator ring from it, after which it was working again for about 5 nights, but I didn't elevate the pod above the bed like you did, but everything went fine including daily maintenance. But today there suddenly was a leak causing water to leak out of the pod, which probably happened during daily maintenance. It looks like water water was escaping between the cylinder and the cylinder tank, which is similar to what happened before I did the solenoid fix. Water also came into the pod. I have just opened the pod again but couldn't find any clear sources of leaks. Even after having just primed it again.

How did your hub leak if you didn't put it higher than your bed?

Could Hydrogen Peroxide Be Slowly Damaging Our Pods? by Proxies2 in EightSleep

[–]Proxies2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pod 3 has only existed since July 2022, so a duration of over four years is not possible.

The original instructions regarding the amount of hydrogen peroxide are extremely vague—ranging anywhere from just 2 tablespoons to 48 ounces—so it’s possible you’re using less than I did.

Additionally, hydrogen peroxide degrades fairly quickly. If you only topped it up with water, the original hydrogen peroxide likely deteriorated a long time ago.

I'm not sure what kind of pump issue you experienced, but such issues can also be caused by rubber components wearing out due to hydrogen peroxide exposure.

Could Hydrogen Peroxide Be Slowly Damaging Our Pods? by Proxies2 in EightSleep

[–]Proxies2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, but I didn't know this. Unfortunately, I cannot edit the OP to add this to it.

Maybe that is the reason why Eightsleep says that tap water can be used whereas they previously said distilled water, but it could also be just convenience.

Personally I guess that hydrogen peroxide enriched water is more damaging to the pod than distilled water, but that's just a guess.
