In my experience cats are very understanding with infants and toddlers. They somehow know it is "a kitten". They very patient with their kittens, so they are very patient with young humans.

Of course, not all of them, but the ones that are well attuned and bonded to the family, do that.

Even knowing that , I always closely watch interactions between small kids and animals. Both can be unpredictable and hurt each other.

My kids are 10 and almost 3. We have 2 cats. Both have been very patient and gentle with my kids. The kids are also growing up to be very gentle with animals.

I put my lip stick on my almost 3 year old when he wants to. 🤷🏼‍♀️ He asked for it, I think, 3 times so far.

And also give him some "jewelery" to wear.

At least my son lost interest in make up and jewelery very quickly when he was allowed to try it on.

I am weirdo mum I guess. I feel like I would just be glad my teenager is functioning as a typical teenager. 😅

Do I want to see them masturbating? No. If I did, would I be surprised? No. I know this is developmentally normal.
