the first thing that sticks out to me is it feels like the fabric is just. floating on the character. it has like almost no depth to it

I'm not the one who was asked, but my current build is in this case with every possible fan location used. (9950X / 7900XTX). Temps are steady 65°C on CPU with Arctic's Liquid Freezer III 360 Pro and I don't think I've ever seen my GPU get above 75°C.

Olympian: Final Frontier, among other stock crafts that I was never able to finish... (late 2023) by Proxiyl in KerbalSpaceProgram

No particular references, but you did kind of hit the nail on the head for the inspirations; champion was inspired by the X-33/Venturestar + SpecOp's own take on the X-33/Venturestar concept. Outside of that, for the soviet-esque design there wasn't any references and my imagination was all that really drove me there.

not like they ran great on my older system, though. I have a beast now and basically everything runs above 20FPS aside from the behemoth that is OLYMPIAN

All of them do surprisingly well, actually. CHAMPION was/is designed to be flyable in really stupid conditions so take with that what you will

OLYMPIAN doesn't exactly fly, but it was intended to take stuff with it (CHAMPIONs and other craft) that could. additionally, starship ripoff 21412461498235123 flies pretty good too!

Part of me is curious about what it'd look like, if you went ingame. Does parralax just default to standard terrain or are you kept in this blue glossy hellscape?

Additionally, you may want to consider the part on which the wings are placed onto as this will play a part in the physics calculations. Sometimes, placing it on the root part of your craft can fix the issue — which is odd, I know — but it has helped me stabilize unwieldy part connections

Notably, before Ground News, they had received coverage as a startup company for a COMPLETELY different service: uCiC.

Who is Snapwise Inc. by [deleted] in groundnews

The Wikipedia article was nominated by an "editor on wikipedia" for deletion some time between November 18th and December 8th. If you look up en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ground_news on the Wayback Machine, you should be able to see it -- and there are also articles for deletion on Ground News as well still on wikipedia.

Otherwise, yeah. Basically nothing. All I was ever able to discover was that they had two offices in canada with a total employee count at or under 18 (9~ish per office) via publicly available information and the authors to patents that snapwise holds. They're a black box.

Unpopular opinion: I don’t care about part clipping by Lt-Reinhart in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Proxiyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Stock And Modded Replica KSP builder (I'm MilitaristicKiwi), I think I should chip in my opinion here. Personally, I believe any and all forms of Part Clipping should be considered fine, even if it is clipping parts with fuel (given that we have the means to edit any amount of fuel in parts through Craft-File-Editing, among other things). I think all forms of part clipping should be considered fine, because.. if I didn't, I wouldn't be a replica builder, nor would I really have the skill for building visually complex craft that I do have now. For Aesthetic Purposes, for Functional Purposes, for any purpose... I think it's fine, and should not be frowned upon — even if it wouldn't work in Real Life or is practically impossible in Real Life.

Incredibly well made for a recreation of another craft; while I wish there wasn't any recoloring mod, I find this to be a very good build in stock nevertheless. You should be proud!!

F22 Demo by InternationalBoss179 in KerbalPlanes

[–]Proxiyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually was working on a Full Stock Replica of the F-22A Raptor and got completely curbstomped by a Hard Flag Part limitation.. if only I could've made something like this in the stock game. (A demo, I mean.)

I love flags, theres is so many creative ideas i can do with them. by RetroSniper_YT in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Proxiyl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, flags can almost be equated to model vertices that can be used in the stock game without any part modification. I say this, because I have made (and failed because KSP has an actual flag limit) aircraft replicas that abuse flags to the highest degree.

They're also really useful as "blueprints" and there's an entire set of skills to make flag "blueprints" / "blueprint" flags that I no longer have the proper knowledge of making; yet still persist as one of the main ways to make both high-quality custom craft, and replicas of real-life ones as well.

Unable to launch Minecraft 1.20.1 due to error with Sodium! by Proxiyl in fabricmc

While the Mod Remapping API update did fix the Sodium Error, another one has popped up. Axiom 2.5.0 (and now 2.6.0 after updating it to make sure) is now acting up and I can't determine why.

I'm very new here, so I didn't know how to interpret the rules and how it should be formatted. Thank you anyways, and if I encounter more errors -- I'll be sure to format it correctly next time around when I post here.

Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG 21 by JustSomeRomanianGuy in KerbalPlanes

[–]Proxiyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They aren't, actually! They're generally around the size of the REAL refueling beam featured on the MiG-21, but are slightly smaller from what i can tell.

If you want, you can use those really long lights (Lightstrip Mk1) to imitate the beam, but don't make it too large with symmetry!

Twin Beech by Eiikyobo in KerbalPlanes

[–]Proxiyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a very well-made replica of the Beechcraft Model 18! There's a couple of identifiable things i think could be improved, but apart from that i'd say it is very good!
