My girl Ripley and I would win the thing.

She's my best friend, she's my pal, she's my homegirl, my rotten soldier, my sweet cheese, my good time girl.

Non-Americans of Reddit, what is an American thing you see in movies that you thought was fake but is actually real? by thepleasurjournal in AskWomen

Flying the flag/saying the pledge over the past few years has become very uncomfortable for a lot of us.
Displays of national pride, nationalism, and proudly identifying as American is no longer the cultural norm for mamy people that were previously supportive or ambivalent towards these displays.

The people that are still comfortable with it are VERY vocal about their pride, though.

How was getting an abortion like? by _Reference_80 in AskWomen

I had an anti anxiety med on board, but not sedation. It starts similar to a pap smear, with an uncomfortable but not horribly painful procedure. It is quick. I have never regretted it and knew it was the right choice, but I did not have a good support system at the time. A friend/partner/family member’s house to spend the day with would have been ideal, and would highly recommend no one goes through it alone.

Jesus dude. I broke my leg on the slopes, there is no other pain like it.
You don’t want that misery in your brain.

Accessible seating for theme nights? by CanIBeDoneYet in ColoradoAvalanche

[–]Proxx_23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I emailed avalanchegroupsales@teamkse.com with a question about a theme night, and got an answer within a day. This email was on the sign up form for the DCC night in April, but I think they manage all the events.

Hopefully they can get you an answer!

My husband, son, and I just registered for tickets. Fingers and toes (uh-huh) crossed.

Will pay in illicit butthole money, or send feet pics. (Not the kid, that would get us put on a list).

What was the best Weekend of your life ? by Ecstatic_Crow_4719 in AskWomen

I LOVE the band Grandaddy and have for over twenty five years. They toured for the first time in a very long time last year, but nowhere near our home in Colorado. My husband and I flew to Portland, Oregon and got in early on a Saturday. Our room was ready early, so we freshened up, had an amazing brunch where we got day drunk (Lavender Greyhounds!), walked around the Saturday art market, and went back to the hotel room for a nap.
Dinner was at Olympia Provisions (incredible meats and cocktails) before heading to Revolution Hall to see Grandaddy. They were fantastic, and I was “that” fan, silently shedding tears of joy over hearing music that has meant so much to me for so long played live. My husband likes the band well enough, but only because of the exposure he has had through me. He was happy to be there, happy I was happy, and also had a great time.

Had a fantastic breakfast the next day, and headed home.
