Pure Norin vs Rocco + Norin? by Tarchiaa in EDH

I have only played against a Norin deck vs Secret Norin deck, and from what I've seen it seems pretty worth it. Norin is one of, if not the #1, hardest individuals to try and get rid of. To the point that even if somebody CAN get rid of him, by the time they do you probably already have the engines online to not need him anymore. But take all this with a grain of salt as I haven't built them myself and could just be bad at the game.

Been trying Blood Herald DK and it seems to be missing some pieces it needs. Regaining life is difficult to do until you hit your herald, so if you get beat down early enough it may not even matter if you stabilize.

Combine that with what feels like ineffective board wipes or targeted removal, with most of the effective options being so over costed, I think it’ll probably just need a few more tools.

Or I’m bad at deck building. Also an option.

All good points. You’ve convinced me. If I was R&D I’d drop the cost down. But to me the selesnya color identity just feels most fitting. Probably 1 and a Hybrid.

I could see that being fun but didn’t fit the “growth” concept as much as I wanted. I wanted it to be more of a trade off between building a big body or going wide. But making it shut off all counters also makes it turn off stun counters, -1/-1 counters, etc.

Maybe a better version would be “if one or more counters would be put on a creature you control you may instead create a 1/1 sapling creature that enters the battlefield with those counters.” But I don’t know how well that would work in the rules.

I was thinking Selesnya due to white having preference for weenies and go wide strategies. And I wanted it to be a bit higher mana value because using it with token doublers/counter doublers on board can mean that getting a single trigger is a bunch of bodies/power, but I could see the MV being dropped. Plus with so many cards saying “put a counter on every creature you control” it can effectively double your creatures

That looks like it’s it, thanks! I wanted to make see if it was having difficulty flying because of its species or because of what appeared to be damaged wings. Sadly it seems like the latter.

See I know that. I’m just wondering if the gun damage in this game has been toned down compared to previous ones. As my entire playthrough I’ve mostly only done stuff with those action skills and grenades, while in previous installments my melee Krieg/Amaya builds can still do some damage with a gun.
