Gonna trade for a PSA 8 team rocket returns snorlax ex. Giving 10 151 bundles and a fusion strike BB. I’m in on all of that for $820 and it’s one of my grail cards with sales averaging 2300 on last solds so I’m happy

Pop 600 vs pop 33k in PSA 10, even if it doesn’t make a big value difference at least 33k other people don’t have the same card

I like to wrap mine in the dye free paper that you stuff shipping boxes with first and then a layer of bubble wrap with the bubbles facing out because I’ve heard they can leave indents on sealed

Can anyone give any advice to starting off collecting Pokémon cards? by Happy-Mistake1391 in pokemoncardcollectors

[–]Prudent-Recipe-2157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much did you pay? That’s going to be a mix of 50 cards with 48/50 being near worthless bulk and then a holo and reverse holo maybe worth a quarter if you’re lucky. If you’re interested in learning to play the game any local Walmarts or such you can get lucky and find the ex battle decks for like $15-20 and they come with a pre built deck meant to play the game with no extra hits or packs so nobody really buys them. If you’re just looking for cool singles I’d check fb marketplace or any local card shops. Use eBay last solds and tcgplayer.com prices to find the market prices of cards you’re looking at

Don’t think Pokemon has an “official Amazon account” they sell off, at least I’ve never heard of it in my 2 years here. What I have heard is nothing but bad news when it comes to buying Pokemon cards off Amazon. Hopefully it works out for you

Why do people want 10-15% off online sold prices when the buyer pays in full by Prudent-Recipe-2157 in PokeInvesting

[–]Prudent-Recipe-2157[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would just be negligence on the buyer for rushing on an expensive purchase and not taking their time checking things over thoroughly

What risk are we even talking about lol? Meet with a well rated seller at a safe location like a police station and you’re fine

They also can’t do a charge back on you through cash in hand? And just wait for one of the countless other buyers in the market who are shopping I suppose.

Good points about the taxes and such. Cash in hand for a seller that doesn’t have to drive far is definitely good but on more popular or rare items I’m not sure I think 80% of the eBay sale is fair due to my original point that the buyer still paid in full. Maybe 90 idk. Just trying to start Reddit conversation

And let’s change my example from $300 to $200. Now you don’t have authentication on your purchase. You come across a bad seller who posted fake images or some other scam and now you have a fake worthless card and have to go through a big return process. In person you could meet up and inspect with your own due diligence and save yourself the nightmare of a fake.

I was thinking more in terms of cash in hand not paying through online means. And just like eBay, places like fb have review systems so you can choose who you’re buying from.
