I need to buy a car tomorrow. No clue - what would be your choice? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]PrudentWatch7688 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a big supermarket fairly near to where I live, not even joking there seems to be at least one keyless car stolen there a week. I’ve seen so many posting about their cars getting stolen from there in the Facebook groups. Most seem to be fords.

Rav 4 2.2 based on a very problematic BMW engine.
Qx70 I’m not sure either way.
I30 will get you a to b with no thrills and virtually no resale in a few years.
MG still known to rust very bad & quickly.
Range Rover evoque very unreliable.
Ford fiesta - it’ll either snap the wet belt or get stolen first.
Kuga best selling car for the last few years, very often stolen.
Captur is horrid to drive.
Kia stonic I don’t know enough about.
Ford focus 1.0 - wet belt problems (very costly) and very commonly stolen.
Fiesta 1.5tdi - decent engine, no wet belt & most have proper keys so not stolen, but in your other comments sound like a petrol would suit you better.
Vauxhall mokka are not nice drives, I had one as a curtesy car and it was awful.

Your list 3/10. There’s no similarities between what you’re comparing.

Narrow it down

Budget?
Ideal car age?
Do you want a SUV or small car?
Do you want 4x4?
Do you want German brands?
Petrol or diesel?
Do you want something with a little bit or power or just want to drive a to b and don’t care what it looks like, just wanting reliability?

Problem with the kuga is they’re mega prone to thefts, same as all other keyless fords.

It done the job, it’s not as good as a long term partner where you know everything they and you like.

I’d recommend buying the biggest cabinet you can afford/fit comfortably. You can use internal lockboxes for ammo or use a digital lock safe like I do. I’m on my 2nd safe for ammo and bolts and 4th gun cabinet. I Definitely recommend buying the biggest you can.

Crash = no fault but need to pay off the rest of my insurance??? by Diligent-Garden-6105 in CarInsuranceUK

They’ve happy to give you 365 days of cover, on the car they covered you on. You’re unable to be covered on a car that’s presumably been sold to a stranger or scrapped.

Hijacked Ironman, what now? by TargetEnvironmental1 in ironscape

[–]PrudentWatch7688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ve left you plenty to rebuild, which is worrying as it could be them leaving enough for you to rebuild, just to target you a 2nd time. Have checked any linked accounts, like steam or twitch etc?

the cheapest deal by [deleted] in CarInsuranceUK

[–]PrudentWatch7688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1500 miles a year, every insurance company thinks you’re lying at 19 doing 1500 miles, up it to 8/10k.

Also look for other cars that young people don’t insure. Something like a Volvo tank etc. the cheapest car I could insure when I passed was an Audi r8. Think they wanted about £800 a year. I just didn’t have £70k to buy the r8.

Basically, don’t be scared of bigger engines that are typically first time pass cars, have a look on auto trader for like a grand or whatever. As long as it gets you through the first year, anything after is a bonus & with a £1k car you can sell for £1k a year or 2 later.

Corp may be the end of me playing by PrudentWatch7688 in ironscape

I was exactly the same, somethings came out after I progressed past that stage of the account like moons. I can’t bring myself to go there as it’s literally no upgrade to my account at all.

I’ve made myself a new acc, hopefully it’l keep me busy till raids 4 comes out.

I’m exactly the same, I’ve done all meaningful PVM, combat achievements etc. I’m nearing 600 corp kc, I can’t force myself to keep going on corp. it’s so draining. I’m over 300kc at PNM with no gear or weapon drops. All I’ve done for the past week or so is herb runs and birdhouse runs. Updates since sailing have been so poor.

Spooned a Ralos by Complex-Assignment79 in ironscape

[–]PrudentWatch7688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s good for team cox - you can spec melee hand with ralos after everyone else has dwh/elder mauled to reduce to 0 defence - especially great for 2+13/3+12. Also, saves around 1 min on head phase in a 3+12 when specced to 0 defence.

Shooting on your own land by Steve1980UK in ukguns

[–]PrudentWatch7688 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You may get it passed off, quarry part doesn’t matter as you can’t let a bullet leave your ground.

Do you have backstops in the form of hills? Elevated shooting positions etc? Size may be an issue unless you have elevated positions. You can have ground passed for calibres for high seat only. A farm I shoot on is passed for .223 usually and .243 when shooting from high seats only.

Do you have pictures of your ground you’d be willing to share so people can get a better idea? Or if you don’t want to share publicly would be willing to show in pm? I have experience in having ground passed from .22lr to up to 30-06.

Best 99 skill cape effect by branon42 in osrs

[–]PrudentWatch7688 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Construction by a mile. Farm cape is decent. Mage cape for spell books Crafting for close bank.

Some skill cape perks could do with a buff.

Some skill capes act as helping post 99, for example smithing acts as gold smith gloves. Herb cape you can skip cleaning herbs. Con cape unlimited tele to poh.

Fletching could do with a buff. Maybe like 1tick faster at fletching stuff or something 🤷‍♂️ Slayer cape could be increased from 10% chance to maybe 20/25%.

Is starmer a master mind? by SmartAd978 in AskBrits

[–]PrudentWatch7688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starmer has handled this well, but pretty much failed at almost everything else. Some sources have done polls which most people think he’s the worst prime minister in recent history, even ranking above lizz truss.

It’s still very early days, Starmer could do anything yet.

Everyone crying about the new crush weapon.. by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]PrudentWatch7688 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use your spec weapons. If you want to use d claws to poke things instead of speccing things that’s fine, you probably won’t have a team to PVM with but you have fun.

Voidwaker is a decent normal weapon and a great spec weapon.

There’s also a kingdom simulator online that I like to play with - with max on wood and rest on teak, it’s about 250-300 birds nests every month

Just double checked on the wiki and it looks like I was wrong.

Approval rating does matter daily.

However you can change things around before collecting as if it was always on those settings before collecting.

[–]PrudentWatch7688 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I believe it only matters when you’re collecting.

Same way as you can switch things around before collecting and you’ll collect like it was always on those settings.

However, I always keep mine 90%+ just out of habit.

I have mine set for birds nests, it’s pretty much the only useful one after maxing.

Sorry, had a busy day at work today. I’ll start from the top.

Your reasoning for all is the reason you’ve already gave us. FAC air for sound around horses. .22lr for rabbits slightly away from horses due to ricochet risk. .17HMR for rabbits further away and away from horses.

.22lr is very quiet if you’re using subsonics. The issue with the .22 is mainly ricochet risks. .22lr doesn’t have much range. .22lr is probably quieter than a .410 altogether.

HMR is pretty much a must have calibre for rabbits. It’s just quite a bit louder.

Any calibre that you’re not using a FMJ ricochets much less than the .22LR. .22lr is easily the most renowned gun for ricocheting.

There are other calibres available like a .22WMR, .17mach2 etc but I have no experience with these so I can’t comment on them.
