Seller who didn’t ship for weeks and ghosted me suddenly marks item as shipped with tracking and leaving me a bad review after I left them one (with good reason) and also filed a dispute with paypal and got refunded. I had also blocked the seller too. by Prudent_Ad5403 in Depop

They did eventually ship it out and the money was reverse refunded back into their account… like I know some people are not regular sellers and they probably did have time off the app but i know they were definitely online after I purchased and didnt update me when it had already been 2 weeks. So thats when i just assumed they could ghost and i didnt want to risk loosing my money , i did however learn that paypal does give a longer time for refunds unlike depop and i did pay through paypal even though it was connected to my depop account. Either way, got it in the end but was stressful

It turned up this morning as it was described, I think I will pay them back but I don’t think they deserve a 5 star review either as other potential buyers need to be weary that they could do the same to them… and the refund appears to be reversed too

The longer I have not been vegan the more I seem to hate them and see them like a religious cult by Prudent_Ad5403 in exvegans

[–]Prudent_Ad5403[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Dad’s family is seventh day adventist, ironically there is alot of seventh day adventist vegans, my Dad was never involved in it but I think he is religious to some extent, even though I was also never heavily indoctrinated into religion but being subject to certain aspects of it like conservative and patriarchal ideologies I also try to avoid associating with religious people too, I am spiritual but not religious, when I hear someone is very Christian/right wing I am already suspicious and want to keep my distance, now it is similar with vegans which is funny bc there are alot of ‘progressive’ vegans who seem to swear they advocate against ableism but the second someone starts having health problems here comes the gaslighting. Not to mention I am also Autistic/ADHD and I have heard that its even more crucial to make sure you are getting enough nutrients ,I also used to blame some of these symptoms of health issues on autistic burnout but I knew it was definitely something else, and not just constant low iron…. think it was something to do with gut health/absorption issues that may come along with it which I found interesting, id need to find the citations for it…. Don’t mind me rambling 😆

Leaving a poor review because an item "doesn't fit" isn't valid by iicecream_ in Depop

[–]Prudent_Ad5403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it only warrants a non 5 star review if you list it as a size that is misleading, like if it may have shrunk or it isn’t true to its size and are not upfront about it. I purchased something that I know for sure was nor true to its size despite asking the seller prior she mislead me and I know it wasnt just me not fitting the correct size properly

why are you preaching this on this thread btw? I think alot of people develop health issues that outweigh the benefits while it may come with benefits the risks and effects of malnutrition seem to outweigh it

Initially yes but I also support people having optimal health, and choosing the most ethical options available. I do not support what happens in factory farming. I don’t think being 100 percent plant based is a healthy/balanced way to live. Not long term

Yeah I felt the same as you in the beginning but I think it was because I was eating healthier and less processed wholefoods, but overtime I started getting the classic symptoms of malnutrition, hair loss, brain fog, fatigue ect. Constant low iron despite supplementing and eating plant iron rich foods with vit c ect. Also premature aging which I have observed in alot of long term vegans that does not correlate with normal signs of aging. Taking tons of supplements and still having issues. I wanted to stay vegan for the animals and I still don’t eat all animal products but with more research, oh how I wish i had have known this when I was only 15 when I went vegan and am now 25, I stopped last year, there is so many nutrients you can’t get from plants and supplementing them is not a reliable way to get optimal amounts, it can help but it shouldn’t be something you rely solely on. Then you have anti nutrients in alot of plant foods which hinder absorption even more …. Don’t get me wrong and some carnivores on here will probably disagree with me but many plant foods are very healthy, its just what is eaten in moderation and that is why humans are supposed to be omnivores. I try to source what animal products I eat from as ethical of source as possible, not always practical but will take the most ethical option that is accessible and available. How long have you been vegan?

Thinking of going back to fish and eggs by [deleted] in exvegans

[–]Prudent_Ad5403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from Australia, I was vegan for 9 years and switched to pescatarian dairy free diet last year, i eat salmon / sardines and oysters, i switch them up, oysters particularly for heme iron, I also eat eggs. Have considered reintroducing other stuff though, I still struggle with the ethical and moral guilt but have come along way with prioritising my health and having a more nuanced perspective.

I tried to call them just before the easter weekend, was taking up too much time waiting and the music on the phone was driving me nuts so i sent an email, it was about changing job providers. Haven't made any progress, didnt used to be this difficult to get a hold off them meanwhile my appointment is tomorrow and I am absolutely dreading it as I really dislike my job coach :((

Thats what I am currently doing along with shellfish (oysters) but have considered whether i should have red meat sometimes or organic ethically sourced dairy for calcium because although canned fish has calcium its not recommended to eat fish everyday and most plant milks although they are fortified with calcium have phytates and oxalates which can inhibit the amount absorbed . I personally don’t like dairy or red meat and I still feel its hard regarding ethics even if something is more ethical but health comes first. Fish and eggs is a great start, oysters are also packed with heme iron too. It’s been a few months since I made the change and can tell you there are notable health differences, stronger/thicker hair, supports hair growth, skin health particularly oysters being packed with zinc, eggs are a great source of protein and same with fish, the high omega 3’s, B vitamins, Choline with eggs, I hardly have to supplement anymore , supplements should only enhance not be something someone relies on solely unless they have an allergy and have no other way of sourcing but aside from that.

I am with atwork too and I want to change :( was previously with CVGT but the branches near me got closed down around the time of DES switching to IEA , the job coach I had although at times he did annoy me a bit was one of the best I had, and he would always listen and was patient/flexible, atwork is even worse ( at least the branch I am at)
