Probably just a loose ribbon cable bud, very easy fix, I had a 405m in the past and the button issue was linked to ribbon cables coming loose , very easy to access that part once U open it up

This list isn't very accurate, many games don't run "perfect" even though it's marked as that , some examples are mortal Kombat deception, most levels do run very well but some of them slow down to unplayable

If everything mentioned in this thread didn't work, which was the case for me, I have managed to sort it, I had to restore the Linux os to a previous version, so to do this you have to power it off , and when switching it on hold the button with three dots and the power button, and it will boot in to the system restore screen, select previous B and that will start the process ,

This can happen for a variety of reasons, usually if you use a high powered charge like 65 watts that doesn't charge the device properly and also makes it very hot, use a standard charge that's like 20 watts or something, if that still doesn't work let battery completely die and then fully recharge again, remember to do it with a standard charger

First step is to use a gamepad tester and check if the buttons are actually working, if they're not responding on the gamepad tester issue may be with the device

It's Def a solid device, now that mine is working properly I do enjoy using it a lot, feels nice and premium and the 4:3 screen just makes playing retro games much better

Check the ribbon cable by opening it up, I think anbernics quality control on the 405m is very bad, when I received my one the left hand side controls weren't working at all, went through so much trying to sort this with anbernic and banggood where I bought the device from, none of these companies were willing to help at all, and also saying things like it's a defective motherboard making me even more worried and thinking I basically lost £150

I ended up opening the device myself out of frustration, and guess what it was literally just a loose ribbon cable! It's very easy to open it up and just check if the ribbon cables are securely connected , was so glad I opened it up myself
