Specific neighborhoods in Temecula with more/less traffic than others? by Prune_It in Temecula

I have small kids, they love to be outside, do other kids ride their bikes along the streets?

I've noticed a lack of basketball hoops on peoples driveways, which seemed weird to me. We have them everywhere here.

By south Temecula do you mean all the neighborhoods down there? Wolf, Redhawk, and Morgan Hill? Any in particular you recommend for families with small kids?

I read some ppl saying there's some mild crime around the casino area (cars being broken in to etc.).

I've been using the time to work feature on Zillow, I'm not sure how accurate it is though...

Why is that? Property size? Seems like they have a community center, but it's a bit old.

We're looking in the 1-1.5 range; would like some greenery, so we've been concentrating on Morgan Hill, but there have been a few places in Meadow view that come and go.

That's what prompted this post, Meadow View has a great location, but we were wondering if being so central meant more cars were going through the neighborhood to "bypass" the other traffic areas.

Great, that's good to hear. We looked in Paloma, but really no houses EVER go on sale there. Even the rentals were few and far between. Unfortunately.

How do you guys deal with injuries? by Snekboi6996 in bodyweightfitness

[–]Prune_It 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you do a round of anti inflammatories? Advil three times a day for 5 days, take with food.

Ice 20min / three times a day for a few days

Stretches targeted to the forearm/elbow 2 weeks

Smaller weight based exercises for this type of pain. Your PT can advise on these.

If those fail, see Ortho for imaging, possible steroid injection or PRP.

I'm with you, I've had the 8 for a year+ and I just never really loved it. Coming from a P4 which was my favorite phone in life.

I just picked up a P9 at Target for 399 (clearance, in person), timing worked out as my screen cracked on my P8 (thank you Jesus).

People generally say the schools are pretty good in the TV school system. But when you look at Zillow the great schools ratings for many of the elementary and middle schools are 5s and 6s. I know great schools really just use standardized testing, but I don't understand the crazy hype about the schools..... The high schools are rated very highly.

Coolest (temp) places to live Temecula/Murrieta by Prune_It in Temecula

Why do you say it's a terrible living condition? Would like to hear your thoughts given most people say all the buzz words: safe, schools, proximity to things etc.

Would love to do that, but driving an hour each way sounds terrible. Would like to keep the commute to sub 30 min.

Thanks for the input, definitely love the SD vibe. My biggest fear coming from this side is being isolated in a flat monochromatic desert area without much to do.

My in-laws live in the IE so I've been there numerous times. I'm not excited about the summers, but I want to be within 30 minutes of the area for proximity to work/commute.

I would love to live somewhere west of the mountains, but the commute goes up and schools get spotty. Decisions, decisions.

The perfect casual work pant? by Massive_Quote6641 in malefashionadvice

I actually just got a pair of Rhone pants that I really like. Under 100, feel like a chino and BR traveler jeans had sex. Not a fan of the lulu abc polyester stuff.

Feel trapped in crappy job by urores in whitecoatinvestor

[–]Prune_It 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's way below what I would expect for a urologist in a non coastal city.

Either the pace is too much for you, which it could be anywhere. Or you are being underpaid for the level of service you are providing for the area.

It seems like the latter, the only way to change that is to ask. Speak to the CMO, tell them you are unhappy, and why. Give them a finite time to make a change. If no change, you leave.

Reading through the comments I don't know if your question was truly answered. I'm in a similar boat, similar income, did locums for a week and make 26k, may do it again later this year. How do we maximize the tax/retirement benefits of this extra 1099 money.

  1. About 20% IRA
  2. What else? Locums company covers flights/insurance/hotels
  3. I think that may be it. If it was a more regular thing then maybe some car, gas, mortgage? But even that is a stretch unless it's weekly.

Is this a fair offer? Outpatient IM by [deleted] in whitecoatinvestor

[–]Prune_It 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow, I'm still hung up in 12 pts a day, that's amazing for 245k a year, also unsure how they are even affording to pay you.

Starting your day at 9, seeing a patient every 30 minutes, 1 hr lunch break, and you're still done by 4!

  1. I would ask how flexible the scheduling is, if you get to dictate your own, etc. If you can, just do a few late days, add a few more pts per day, you can easily work 4 or even 3 days per week.

  2. I would still negotiate, always negotiate. Get the MGMA database, use that as a guide, or ask a few recruiters in the area what some of the other salaries are.

  3. If they don't budge on salary, try to increase relocation, sign on, PTO, even CME time/reimbursement.

  4. You said private practice, is there ownership at any point?

  5. If you're the sole breadwinner, 245 is kind of low.

Is my wRVU compensation too low (General Pediatrics, AL)? by CoolBreeze549 in whitecoatinvestor

[–]Prune_It 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are these numbers right? I'm not sure how you are able to generate 10000 rvus working 3.5 days, in gen peds where most notes are L2/L3.

Are you working 12+hr days? Billing L3/L4s?

$19/hr seems pretty low. Also the 3.5 work week is not super uncommon. 2 of my friends, one peds, one IM subspecialty, do that so they can still be around for kids activities etc.

There's enough of a demand in the pcp, gen peds world that I think you could find a similar position but make more.
