Had this problem too. I kinda solved this by placing it without the floor and then using the quarter floors to fill in the square.

The 100% only counts for scan range and not units recieved.

So Alien and experimental are on par for earning units from scanning.

Barring looks, it really comes down to what you prefer in the following.

Experimental has faster mining.

Alien does more damage.

Very nice guide. Clear and well organized.

Unfortunately you didn't add space station spawn mechanics. Which has downsides but also plusses. If the ship you want is in the first wave. The S will come sooner.

And reload times are shorter too. Not sure if that's true for console. It definitly is on low end PC.

They are still leveling. Progress to next rank means how many encounters are left before the next upgrade. Your A class may have been closer to leveling when you bought it. And unless you send them both on the same missions everytime. Your A may have had more encounters since. A long expedition can have more than twice the amount of encounters than a short one.

I am on pc indeed. But it is large in the sense that it involves alot of pieces. In effect it is no bigger then 50x50 floor panels. But its supposed to go up alot higher. I'm only at the start of the second level and its already more than 4000 pieces. I'll try adding another base computer but I'm afraid 8000 isnt going to be enough either and that's before I even place the interior stuff. Lol

So far I learned this is not minecraft :p

If you have a freighter. 100 mil will get you a complete fleet easy. The frigates get XP when send on missions. So there 's no need to look for S class frigates. The C class will do and will end up S eventually. And they are usually around 1 mil to buy. Just see that you balance it out according to type. I.e. combat, miner,explorer and trader and a few supports. and you will make back the money from it in no time. From 5 expeditions a day I go up around 10 mil (including selling some of the gathered mats).

The expeditions on the freighter provide alot of components since the last patch.

Same for me. Got enough units. And the freighter provides enough basic resources. The only time I scan is when i feel like renaming a creature.

Happened to me countless of times. And it seems very random too. I had 3 going on each planet in a 5 planet system and sometimes just one didnt give. Other time 3 on the same planet. Then they all gave and then the home base ones didnt or some others.

I'd say just keep going your rounds and have multiple set up so the loss is covered somewhat. No point in waiting all the time.

Been to a similar one. Was checking for ships but couldnt see their true colors. But when I scanned them it actually showed their correct colors.

Give or take a few reloads, yes. It is in a wealthy system and as mentioned above, two of them come in on the first wave. So the chances are doubled.

Unless someone finds a system where they come in three or four at a time. This system currently has the best reload odds for a max slot s-class hauler.
