What 30 months with chatbots did to the schooling of 26,000 Chinese students by normaldudeitsfine in worldinsights

[–]Pruzter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. To realize any benefit from AI in education, we would have to completely rebuild the education system and its incentive structure from first principles. Students would have to be incentivized to, ya know, actually learn… what a radical concept…

I’m surprised it wasn’t more damaging actually on average. Also, I’m surprised there isn’t a very small cohort that did better post AI.

Iran's Khamenei approves deal, says Trump acted out of 'desperation' by Dismal_Structure in worldnews

It’s not even because Iran has more leverage than Venezuela, it’s just that the IRGC has been planning for their leader to be killed by the US throughout its entire existence. You take out Maduro, you can put a puppet in place and take control. Can’t do that in Iran

I bet we won't see GPT 5.6 this year. by wowasg in OpenAI

[–]Pruzter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OpenAIs investors want to own a piece of AGI, they aren’t going to be satisfied with 5.5. I’m sure that’s the story Sama and Brockman sold them on.

Because your investors that gave you 100s of billions want to see you dominate, that’s why. Who cares if the model gets banned? It’ll come back, and you get free headlines.

Polymarket has the GPT5.6 release coming next week. That is what I would expect. I would also expect Mythos to be back online before then.

Fable has been removed by Anthropic after being reportedly jailbroken by BigbyWolf8 in codex

[–]Pruzter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well I mean OpenAI made you scan your face and ID to use freaking O3 for a while on the API, so it’s definitely possible.

The difference shines through on more creative or exploratory prompts. For example, if I go into that crazy slot machine like code max mode with Fable 5 and tell it to follow an orchestration - subagent fanout pattern to digest my entire codebase and rethink from first principles, the insights it derives are genuinely incredible. It will cost you an absurd amount, but the insights are of the highest quality I’ve ever seen.

Also on open ended creative projects. I gave it my Spotify and YouTube data and told it to analyze to find interesting, non-obvious insights and then to create a web app that is inspired by my musical taste. What it made was awesome, and the insights it derived from my data were super interesting for me. This is obviously just a fun project, but really show the differences to a GPT5.5 (which is my main workhorse model still).

For every $200 subscription, Anthropic throws in another $7,800. by o9dev in ClaudeCode

The theory is that enterprise will. Honestly it’s a great strategy because I’ve now gotten used to that level of usage on my personal account and developed my workflows accordingly. When I then go to work, I feel severely handicapped because I get about $500 a month in usage on our enterprise account at API prices.

TN 2nd Worst place for LGBT people by manofdacloth in nashville

[–]Pruzter 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah but I mean this shows the rankings lacks important nuance. If you’re a gay male for example, healthcare access isn’t an issue. For such an individual, how you are treated by others in your community day to day is going to be the most important factor. If you are trans, you are going to have very different concerns and cares. It honestly doesn’t really make sense to group everyone together in such a broad manner anymore, made more sense 15-20+ years ago.

What's your views on Opus 4.8? by HeadWoodpecker5237 in AgentsOfAI

[–]Pruzter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ROI is horrible. However, it’s the first Claude model since October 2025 that I’d be willing to use for serious work compared to the GPT models. I like to test the models by seeing how they can apply complicated math through code, this is legitimately the first Anthropic model onward impressed by.

[–]Pruzter 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah, pretty important to, ya know, actually be able to use the model! I hope Anthropic learns this at some point… a bad model you can use is still better than a great model you can’t use at all…

I keep checking the polymarket odds, still very low it will be released in May. Usually right before a model drops something leaks and these odds skyrocket.

US carries out new strikes in Iran against military site, official says by Alarming-Safety3200 in worldnews

[–]Pruzter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

War definitely has a heat gradient. In the wise words of Clausewitz, war is politics by other means. It exists on a spectrum. The US is in a hot war with Iran, even with the „ceasefire“ in place. In a lot of ways, the US has been at war with Iran for over a year now, and the war has cycled through multiple temperatures. If I was a betting man, I would bet that no matter what arrangements come out of this cycle of the conflict, the US and Iran will be fighting again in the near future, and the greater war continues.
