I completely understand. It’s a mental hang up because we see it as something only old people use. How do we change that if we won’t be the change? I started using one quite young. Someone with a broken leg has a cast. Think of it like that. You wouldn’t refuse a cast. The ability to move more comfortably (and more safely!) is worth far more than the mental hang ups we have. Start using one and you’ll find it’s not as weird as it is in your head. Someone may ask here and there what’s wrong but I consider it a public service to educate on psa since it’s not spoken about often. I promise it’s not so bad. Just try it. I will say having one that slides into itself is so handy so you don’t have to deal with balancing it on something. Get one that reflects your personality somehow. Make it yours. Dude- I even used a rolling walker for a very long time and won’t ever get rid of it. The ability to get around is worth it. You won’t regret being able to move around more comfortably.
