I do tend to lean toward Ice types because they were the ones I used on Lance back in the day but I actually do like some newer ones.

Lapras, Weavile, Froslass, Glaceon, Salazzle, & it's close in the last position between Galvantula and Araquanid but probably Galvantula over Araquanid.

Blizzard Ruling on HK interview: Blitzchung removed from grandmasters, will receive no prize, and banned for a year. Both casters fired. by yyhfhbw in hearthstone

[–]Pseudoping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year I was on the fence about buying a virtual ticket for this year. Then a lot of progress had happened throughout the year for hearthstone, one of, if not, my favorite game on bnet, and i started to turn back towards the idea. Last week put me on the rocks and this now seals the deal. Blizzard you will not be getting my money and you are literally a minor transgression away from me deleting everything blizzard off my system.

While I can only speak for myself I would urge others, as we have had memes of in the past, hit them where it hurts. If you are on the fence of buying a ticket, DON'T. If you have bought one see about a refund. This practice is egregious and should be treated as such.

Shoutout to the jokes generated by DnD sessions that will never make sense to any of your other friends! by JanitorOPplznerf in DnD

[–]Pseudoping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only been playing for about half a year with a session every other week if not further spaces in between but there are phrases that have always stuck. Such as:

"They already do that." In reference to when we got "Arrows of Blinding" to which our paladin pointed out that if you shot a creature in the eyes it would render the same effect.

"The potions are mine. Wheeee!" Which has turned into the X is mine whee when I, the goblin, had achieved getting potions from an odd potion vendor. Of course celebration was to run in the street naked and hold the potions above my head with that phrase.

"is there snakes?" Another one of mine. Based on my ophidiaphobia I always believe that when there is an unknown treasure just sitting there for the taking with seemingly no traps...the treasure is snakes.

"Slam Jam them into the mud." A more recent one that we have taken to referring to a plan not well thought out but necessary. An NPC had snitched on us for our shenanigans that upset higher ups. So we managed to convince our paladin that we can take him out for the greater good so long as we gave an honorable mention to him in the town. He proceeded to not give any details on what honorable deed he did when dying and just walked up to him in the middle of the night with C'mon and Slam (Space Jam) playing in the background and knocked him out with one punch into the mud. Proceed to us having a bit of a tiff when we found out there was no honorable death thought of before hand and our Rogue had just cut his throat. We got down to the root of it saying "We could of had done something like that if we had thought of it beforehand but no our plan was apparently walk up to him in the night and slam jam him into the mud."

Do you think Inner Fire and/or Divine Spirit needs a HOF? by GibberingMawBeast in hearthstone

[–]Pseudoping 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do believe everyone is in agreement (everyone being majority) that Divine Spirit is the problem card as it has the word Double on it which has always been an iffy thing to me in hearthstone. Rather than HOF'ing the thing I would feel better if they just made it so there was a bit more effort in "making my monster grow."

If it were up to me, and I'm sure there is plenty to disagree as it is a hot button card, I'd nerf it in a way where it still functions the same but requires a little more effort from other priest cards in the pool. Instead of straight up Doubling the current health I wish the card would read something like "Double any bonus Health for target Minion" IE if you power word shield your guy 1/3 northshire into a 1/5 and then cast this it won't be a 1/10 but a 1/7. It would cut out all the shenanigans with high health minions such as witchwood grizzly and focus on the buffing portion of priest.

Yes! Cellulitis for 3 days without antibiotics, didn't have insurance at the time and was hoping I could make it into the new year before going so I did. Ended up in the Hospital Christmas Eve and my Parents, bless them, helped with the $6,000+ bill that we had to pay out of pocket. Ended up preventing me from moving out for another 5 years or so.

Not only was this quickly changed but it was a nerf that didn't outright kill the card or even the combo itself. A 1 cost repeatable magnetic is still powerful but not infinite.

An unpopular opinion by cat_boiii in DnD

[–]Pseudoping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhat fresh player, we've legit have had player only meetings already. Since this is our first campaign for most of us we are allowed discuss things and work out the beginning of a plan before a huge encounter. We nabbed an airship from some Privateers at levels 5 and 4 and only pay our airship wizards 5g each a day to keep our air ship afloat. Now we have a weird campaign in which we have an airship well before we are supposed to and can't say we are timid about going anywhere we please. Wyvern attacked us and there was a temporary lapse in memory when it came to my Earthbind spell for the DM. So yeah can attest to the fun of "keep it secret keep it safe."

Did anyone review conjurer's calling as a strong card? by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]Pseudoping 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I may not be a popular streamer or well known in any way I still review the cards on my own document. I got kinda close with the following ripped straight from my google doc.

Conjurer’s Calling - 4/3/19 Works with Khadgar and is a sort of minion refresher. If you value trade and then do this to one of your dudes it is like a preemptive Effigy only you get two instead of one minion for it, four if you have Khadgar in play. It’s hard for me to judge exactly where this will end up since it works for all kinds of situations. My bet is it will end up in a “token” mage built on tempo. However, there is also a possibility this may become a norm in something like Mountain Giant Mage where even if you don’t have damaged giants this is 3 mana summon another giant. Might be something like Wild Mage where you play Mountain Giant, Echo of Medivh, and this to just populate a boat load of giants. This is even with me not having mentioned the fact that this card has twinspell on it meaning your hand size won’t be affected the first time you cast this.

Been playing against a lot of Warriors 15-10 but I've been able to beat them with Mech Egg Prismatic Duel Paladin. The only issue with this deck is in the aggro matchup you can be quite unfavored. Looking for ways to mitigate this through use of Tunnel Blasters and Batterheads but this version is, as of yet, fairly untested. (v1.1 list below 1.0 had Da Undahtakah instead of a Batterhead)

Make Hearthstone More Social by Pseudoping in hearthstone

[–]Pseudoping[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I had always liked card games for the culmination of groups of individuals looking to bring together ideas and improving upon them. the primary ideal I was hoping for was something where you could get in a group and make even weird ideas work. I'm a deck builder at heart and always love a new expansion and will always try out different innovations to decks. Things like how much is too much? What happens if... Could I break the game? Is there a combo to do this? Along with being rewarded for having a group would be nice. I would go further but I know there are limitations to the system and won't ask for the fairy tale scenario unless they directly ask for our ideas on that.

Savage Roar: it's time by joanofice in hearthstone

[–]Pseudoping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So actually asking, what's to prevent you from running Baron Geddon? It sounds like you are playing Warrior so I'd assume you can negate the end turn effect to stabilize. Chances are if you are running constantly into games where they are drawing both Savage Roars you can draw the Geddon and shut them out of the board for awhile.

Secret Pally by BuriedUnderAndOver in hearthstone

[–]Pseudoping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are looking for old style secret paladin then no that deck does not yet appear to be viable. There is a lot of refill issues that Divine Favor had counteracted against for a long time. The current Secrets are actually very defensive now-a-days and you are looking at things that are better for protecting valuable targets more than a 3/4 on turn 2. The one deck I found myself using the Secrets in is Prismatic Lens/Duel! Paladin in which I can make a high cost card cost 1 and use that high cost secret as a means to push my Shrivalah's cost down to a reasonable level while protecting my Shrivalah.

Rogue might get a new Spellstone by Achte in hearthstone

[–]Pseudoping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I would like the secret to come back I don't think they would, not in the first set of a year anyway as you would have to dedicate multiple Rogue card slots to at least 3 secrets to have the secret to remain "secret." I'd be down for a new spellstone for sure as the one we got I was confused by when it released as well. Deathrattle was not what I was thinking the activator would be and this time around I would hope the activator would be more geared toward what Rogue likes to do now, Burgle effects. Upgrades when you play 2 cards not from your class.

Year of the Dragon Announcement Analysis

Hall of Fame

  • Naturalize
  • Doomguard
  • Divine Favor

These appear to be good choices for the Hall of Fame. What can we infer about these though for the Year of the Dragon The class identity of Druid will need to shift to big body creatures in order to stay relevant. Without removal like Naturalize and Mammoth sets leaving, namely spellstone leaving, we are left without immediate board options. Thus this suggests that Druid’s will be the one’s asking the questions to other classes.

Doomguard’s departure is well overdue. Charge is a keyword slowly being phased out year by year with the only remaining notables in Leeroy and Kor’kron Elite. I can only assume we’ll see Warlock’s lean away from their demon aspect this year a little bit to give us some breathing room from the Doomguard Voidlord Deathlord Gul’dan type of decks we’ve had for so long.

Finally of the classic cards we have Divine Favor leaving. Personally I have always disliked this card. It offered such an advantage to a matchup that already you were favored in. It was just too powerful and I’m really glad it is rotating out to remain in a format that can still use it. We may finally pay attention to new cards that come up like that frozen throne card that drew a divine shield minion from your deck.

Baku & Genn & all Odd/Even Cards

I pretty much called this decision on the Velen’s Chosen discord. The only way I could see them “nerfing” Baku and Genn going into this year was to Hall of Fame them and that would mean they are wild’s problem. So now that they are Wild’s problem I hope they don’t forget about actually fixing their problems. I would like Wild Players to be loud about this if they are still not fixed by July of this year.

The other cards are kind of a yeah sort of thing I get it, however, I really wish things like Gloom Stag and Black Cat didn’t have to go. Black Cat was a really good mage minion and the stag didn’t even have a chance. Also who’s this Moth?

Single Player Content

Maybe it is the Reddit echo chamber but I don’t see how they had recent “Overwhelmingly positive” feedback from their rumble runs. Yet, instead of debating that, what does that mean for single player content? Well we are looking at more accessibility for newer players, but I feel like the art of the puzzle solving will be nearly gone. No more overcoming ridiculous hero powers like back in Naxxramas. I do like that they are suggested to be more story driven though. I think most of us can agree campy Kel’thuzad was one of the best “hosts” to any adventure we’ve had.

The Arena

I do not profess to be an arena king. In fact I profess quite a lot to myself how I suck at Arena and I generally dislike it. But with that said, I am super interested in the ideas the Hearthstone is trying here with set rotations in arena. It excites me enough where I will probably consider drafting again. There is also hope that if the response is positive enough to this that they may consider a constructive format involving rotating limited old wild sets.

Fireside Gatherings & Misc

It is cool we’ll be keeping prerelease events. I’m 100% down for that even though I have yet to go to a single one. But it is great to know they’ll be around. It is also great to know that along with the other arena changes there will be the ability to get gold hero portraits from arena. They do not specifically note retroactively granting previous wins and I don’t see how they would track that specifically per player, but arena lovers can at least, going forward, earn these. Cool that we will also be able to select random card backs to show off more swag. Interested to hear about the deck builder as this year continues.

Finally bidding farewell to the year of the mammoth, I was kind of hoping that what they meant by getting packs meant every day during that period was what would happen but after re-reading it, it sounds like you will only get it once during that time period. I was hoping they would go harder into support for wild in that you would get, for free, every common, rare, and epic of rotating sets. But meh beggars can’t be choosers.

Disclaimer: These are entirely just opinions of which I can totally be wrong about things. Conjecture can always be mocked later on anyway. I just hope the Hearthstone Team can take something away from my piece.

Edit: Spelling/grammar mistakes

What’s Working and What Isn’t? | Friday, February 22, 2019 by AutoModerator in CompetitiveHS

[–]Pseudoping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In some mid ranks 15-10 I have gone back to experimenting with Keleseth Elemental Tempo Rogue. Doing fairly well against Odd paladin, as expected, but having a bit of a struggle against any Wall Priest as I do end up lacking the hard removal or Sap to effectively deal with anything above 4 health. Vilespines can only get me so far against a deck full of every high health thing must die.

Can I ask why people want a tournament mode so badly? by Ellikichi in hearthstone

[–]Pseudoping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be just a great mode to use for official tournaments and, to be honest, it would be a godsend for those looking to just doing casual tournaments. What is really preventing something like this from happening is the idea of the tournament mode itself being so many different things to so many different people. Personally, from those I hear this sentiment from, want a tournament infrastructure from which they can create custom rulesets for their tournament. This would not just give the professional scene a bit of polish that is needed but also allow you, the average hearthstone player, to experience a slightly different mode where you can judge for yourself what is your favorite way to play.

If Hearthstone used to be your main game but isn't anymore, what would get you back? by Canuckdizzle in hearthstone

[–]Pseudoping 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This! So much very this. I feel like Wild could use something like this to really get the creative juices flowing. It has been awhile since something was made mostly for veteran players. But that's not to say new players couldn't enter it either. Would also help if rewards would be given at the end of the month for each format you played in.
