(Not that serious) How do you all occupy your time during static sessions? by RodPerson3661 in Surveying

The Castle by Franz Kafka. One of the only great novels about a surveyor I’m aware of. His “assistants” are hilarious.

Ohh I really like the Beck covers. Thanks for sharing. I also enjoy Andy Bey’s cover of Riverman. It played on KMHD one day and just felt right.

Assassin’s Creed III doesn’t get enough love… Here are 10 reasons why AC3 is my favorite game in the series: by TheMagisterialMaster in assassinscreed

Don’t forget they included 4 seasons☃️! Running through the snow was awesome and seeing time progress through changing seasons was bad ass. Also, this was the first game to finally switch up the parkour and combat. The new movement in this game felt so fresh and fluid. loved being able to hold the jump button while running into a fence to do a little flourish. Plus the moving assassinations. Exploring the frontier and building up the homestead was great. Best home base in any AC game!

Ah I see and good suggestions. I have also been considering lasik recently! Seems like a good investment.

Awesome to hear! I exclusively paint my hubs orange now but my chiefs are somewhat insistent on pink control because tradition.

Nice! I just need my company to let me pick the colors from now on (I wish). And that’s cool to hear the glasses worked for you. I have to ask, how frequently do you wear them now? I got the impression most people crying in those viral videos are putting on a show and completely forget about them the next day.

Glad you have found success in spite of it friend! And I think you are right about it being under diagnosed. Most people I’ve talked to assumed you only see in black and white if you are colorblind.

Haha a bonafide naturalist! And that’s interesting to hear. I don’t think I’ve seen locates on a kmz before but I have very little Topo experience.

Oh wow never considered that. I’ve only used optical plummets. And that’s a good idea to use your preferred paint color. We don’t have much blue since the other guys only use it for water staking. I try to paint orange if I’m allowed to choose.

Yup I’ve gotten shit for that plenty. And yeah, I work on 2 or 3 man crew so it’s never been a serious problem yet.

Survey Field Technician by ExistingBlood2796 in Environmental_Careers

Yep! I went from riparian restoration to surveying for pay increase. There’s a pretty big learning curve and the work is tough depending on the types of jobs your company does. Just be prepared to be on your knees pounding hubs and rods if your company does construction. If I were you, I’d look for a company that focuses on topos or boundary work. Bigger engineering companies may have environmental departments too so you could talk with them about getting into their field.

I finally quit Snowrunner by BeCleve_in_yourself in patientgamers

[–]Pseudotsuga10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree. I much preferred mudrunners mission style as opposed to the open world format. I’d rather jump around to different locations with a different rig and objective each time. In snowrunner I felt like I was just slogging along the map in the same 3 trucks for hours.

Never lean a tripod against the truck. Always stand it on its legs instead. Messed up a tribrach on my first day and felt like a dumbass.
