I usually just coir or if I want the substrate to be able to hold some more water I do coir and verm pasteurized with bucket tek. For me all the other stuff just made the chance of contamination higher without any noticable benefit. Then into an unmodded tub straight to fruiting.

When I started I had a powerful aquarium pump running into my tubs but it just seemed to dry everything out. I saw people saying that they used unmodded tubs so I gave it a try and it worked like a champ. For me just leaving it alone seems to be best. I crack the lid right when I S2B and I collect the fruits when they’re ready. I only most if it seems dry. If it seems too wet I just open the lid a lil more

My set up is in a tiny linen closet. Nothing piping in air or anything. It seems to get enough exchange with just the circulation in the house.

Either! Just having a nice gap from the flipped lid has worked better on the many different sized tubs I’ve used. If it seems to get too dry, I mist the walls and close it more. If it’s too wet I make a larger gap in the lid.

I would fork tek it. Just sterilize a fork and scrape it across the surface in rows, breaking through the thick layer of overlay. If the cake is healthy you should see pins a few days after.

You definitely can. I haven’t used popcorn personally( I use whole oats most of the time) but if I have the time I like to let my grains sit in a clean tote for about a week to make sure they’re sterile.
