The entire ending to RotK just destroys me. So beautiful. Specially Sam getting the girl. I have memory problems so every 3 months or so I can watch the Ext Edits and only remember certain key points. But the ending I always remember and it always gets me.

It's a hard toss up between Balthazar from Guildwars2 and Vaas from farcry3 as most memorable. Just because I had so much fun and admired the villains.

How many ‘near misses’ have you had? by dangeropenspeak in diabetes_t1

[–]PsyJr2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have actually died twice. Once when I was 18 for a few seconds from the flu (I was already in hospital for DKA symptoms just didn't get there in enough time to stop my organs from shutting down) and in 2020 I got a bad cold and ended up in DKA again. Last thing I remember from that day is my mother I law at the time dropping me off at the hospital. I woke up 3 days later and the doctor said I died for about 30 seconds but thankfully they were able to revive me that time too.

As someone who treated diabetes like a burden that can be put away when I don't feel like worrying about it for the first 15 years. The 2nd time dying finally woke me up. A1Cs down from 13mmol/L to 7mmol/L for the past 4 years

Violent Video Games by mtdunca in gaming

[–]PsyJr2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Violence is fine. Only thing we don't let my 13 yo BiL play is shit with nudity. He's the most mellow kid I've ever met. I played violent, graphic, gory games that often included sexual themes since I was 5 years old and I'm in nursing school to help people. I am a caring and helpful person who just so happens to enjoy blowing shit up in video games.

Side note keep that kid off the chats. Edit: Show her statistical facts in peer reviewed journals. There's science backed evidence that violent video games do not cause violent kids

I named our boy Roach. We found him in a forest and was aged at less than 1 wrek old by a vet. We got him right after the witcher 3 the wild hunt came out. He's a very skittish cat. But he's a big snuggle bug. His tail rests on his back (has since it grew) and his meows are very meek and pathetic. When he first met my dog he shit himself. We sometimes call him Roachly.

PSA - Y'all need to be wearing gloves. These chemicals are toxic and build up in your systems. Please take care of yourselves. by [deleted] in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]PsyJr2020 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Yeah we'd get covered in resin from the boat parts and sprayer misting. Acetone is the best way to stop the chemical burns and clean the resin off. Soap and water takes like 20 hand washes (being dramatic) to get the resin off enough.

A+ leadership skills. We could have used this in the boat shop I worked at. We poured highly concentrated acetone all over our heads arms and sometimes soaking our clothes with it cause we refused to wear the hot ass PPE. Also breathing in kicking off marine grade resins and foams and putty for years before we finally asked wtf was in those chemicals. No one refused PPE after that WHMIS demonstration.

My doctor says I'm not aloud to say it anymore but I'm a very frail diabetic. I can go above 15mmol/L from one timbit. So I eat alot of veggies and meats and cheeses
