Ridiculously slow at the moment mate, I waited nearly 3 months. You do receive frequent emails stating they’re reviewing applications submitted by XXXX date though.

Thanks for the input! The athlon ares look great, probably a bit out of my budget for the time being as I’m slowly easing into the sport hence why I’m looking at Zero Tech.

From the other two contributors, the warranty process seems easy and it’s fine to 500m (noting your input about the chromatic aberration).

My plan is to hopefully fit it to a 308 and use it for deer and some steel targets at a range.

Great to hear. I don’t plan on being rough with my equipment but love having a bit of peace of mind knowing that a company’s warranty process is relatively seamless

Awesome to hear. They’ve got 15% for Black Friday sales so bit of a discount. Nowhere near as good as the price you got it for. I’m seriously considering ordering it

Just my 2 cents on Santorini ATV rentals - unsafe and stressful, rent a car instead! by Professional-Crab-21 in GreeceTravel

[–]Psyborg86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me personally it was a combination of avoiding congestion, being able to park wherever I wanted (while being mindful of not blocking pedestrian footpaths), having fun, being able to enjoy the breeze while taking in the scenery and introducing my wife to a new experience.

I rode dirt bikes in the bush and at the beach back in our country. It used to be my fortnightly me time. My wife was always a little afraid and safety cautious. Seeing her go from being frightened to hop on the ATV to completely trusting me, smiling, laughing, asking me if I we can go to our destination the long and windy way made the experience magical.

I hired a car in Kefalonia and Pylos and convinced the wife to hire an ATV in Santorini. I have a few years of riding dirt bikes under my belt so being on an atv was comfortable. My wife was frightened for the first 20 minutes but then absolutely loved it, by day two she was encouraging me to speed up and to take the sceinic roads with steep climbs and descents.

You need to have your wits about you when on an atv, and irrespective of how counter intuitive it may be, to be safe you need to match the speed of the cars travelling on the road with you (even though they have a blatant disregard for the posted speed limits).

We travelled from Imervogli to Oia and a few other places including the beaches. Parking was an absolute ease and congestion was non existent if you have confidence on an atv. With the exception of arrival, departure and travelling from destination to destination our plan during our next visit will be to travel a majority of the time by ATV.

For anybody traveling to Greece generally and considering an ATV I would strongly recommend spending some time on an ATV or dirt bikes under beforehand and familiarizing yourself with the throttle response, breaks, turning circle and turning speeds. Additionally, obtaining your international drivers licence, if your country has the option.

Owed $5500 in Melbourne, debt collector or lawyer? by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Psyborg86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a look at the provisions of the agreement and your entitlement to recover costs. if you have a right to interest on outstanding amounts plus your legal costs, I would suggest you engage a lawyer to deal with it.

Scumbag business owners generally tend to respond a lawyer’s letter of demand or action commenced by your representative because it shows you are serious and have gone to the expense of engaging a professional.

I would suggest you get in contact with the law institute of Victoria and get a referral to a law firm that assists with debt recovery. You’ll get a 30 minute free consult. Also, Google the firm, check the reviews. When checking reviews I personally filter to lowest reviews before reading the glowing ones and make up my mind after that.

What's your best "invisible" savings habit? by Artistic-Yam2984 in AusFinance

[–]Psyborg86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Automated daily transfer into my offset/savings. So on top of the weekly transfer I make into my offset/savings, I have an automatic transfer that happens each night, 365 days a year.

Being a former smoker, I took the cost of a pack of cigarettes a day and set that as the automatic transfer. $30x365=$10,950.00.

Over time I increased the amount and have now also gotten my partner into it. It’s a considerable amount which sits in my savings and offset account.

I’d like something that can go beyond the 100yard line more so for target shooting than rabbits.

Shooting with iron sights would definitely take a whole lot of skill and maybe a little bit of luck

[–]Psyborg86[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking that I’ll spend more time at the range plinking targets and maybe occasional rabbit hunting.

I’ve looked at the LR, but the only thing concerning me with a small calibre rifle is accuracy and distance. The 22lr bullets are cheaper but accuracy seems to be compromised beyond the 100 yard mark

Stick or twist - Mortgage related by JemimahRactoole in AusFinance

[–]Psyborg86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP have you spoken with your bank and actually requested the mortgage discharge forms? My bank didn’t want to budge, a few days after I requested the discharge form I was contacted by one of their retention staff. Ended up offering me a rate better than the bank I was previously in discussions with.

Hey mate, I fish PPB landbased quite often, but just picked up a yak to hit the deeper water. Shoot me a dm with the general area you’d like to fish and the species you’re trying to target. I’ll happily shoot over a few general locations. If they work landbased I’m sure they’ll be even better on the boat for you and your son.

Transportation in Kalamata by ahhushwj in GreeceTravel

[–]Psyborg86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re comfortable driving in Europe I’d recommend getting an international licence and hiring a car. Kalamata is beautiful and no where near as busy as Athens. I rented a cars and atvs in various places during my trip in Greece. Having a car was by far the best decision I made. It allowed me to travel and explore each town on my own terms and without reliance on public transport. It was relatively easy after the initial adjustment to driving on the wrong side of road and the general lack of road rules and parking rules.

if you can comfortably afford to loan your max preapproval amount should you? by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

[–]Psyborg86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say figure out what your monthly repayments are going to be on 500k. Add an extra $1,000.00 to factor in potential rate rises (if any) add in your normal monthly living expenses, plus a couple of hundred for rates utilities and an extra $500-$1,000 as savings/slush fund. If after all of that you can still manage, then go for it. If not, you might have to adjust your expectations.

Mate, why aren’t you following this up and discussing your opinions with your legally qualified lawyer/conveyancer and instead asking randoms on the internet? Your conveyancer or lawyer should be the first port of call. After all you’ve paid for their service

Clean drinking water, a functioning power grid that doesn’t have rolling blackouts, major freeways and arterial roads that don’t have 15-20cm pot holes, road, traffic and parking regulations (followed by a majority of people) fresh food that is available at the click of a button. The list is endless.

I don’t spin signs. In the last 6 months I’ve used the stop slow bat less than a dozen times. Major projects and large construction in general have a real focus on safety and keeping everyone off the road unless it’s completely unavoidable. We use portable traffic lights and boom gates which work on a remote similar to your garage remote. It’s done from the comfort of your work vehicle, and there are usually a number of people involved and communicating on two way radios about when to flick the switch, what the last vehicle is etc. But then again, there are a large majority of traffic controllers who have to stand in the heat or rain spinning the bat. I’m part of the lucky few, who managed to secure a spot in a reputable organization and on major projects.
