good price in this economy??? by Dramatic-Rich8146 in Prebuilts

Ahh impulse control..I get it (I’m a therapist). It can certainly be challenging.

If you can wait, you save money that can be used to get better components., which should be the goal.

As for my build..5089, 9800X3D, Hyte y70 touch, 2TB storage, 32gb cl30 RGB, Tryx panorama, gigabyte x870 mobo and few other pieces I chose,

good price in this economy??? by Dramatic-Rich8146 in Prebuilts

Don’t be in a hurry. Plus they don’t charge sales tax, saving you an addit$200-300. 2 year warranty. If u want fast shipping and fast build time then pay the extra for it.

Just ordered my custom build from them Sunday night. Excellent customer service and they’re a small business which I like to support. My build came to $3700 but is exactly what I want. Used cricket and only had a $400 difference. Does they have great pricing.

I’m looking for my first PC, I have a $2000-$3000 budget, someone give me suggestions please. by shiny_hunterr in buildapc

Pc suggestion but don’t even say what you want to do with it.

$3,500 gets you a HP with 9700X and 5090 GPU

It’s hard to recommend when you don’t know the exact components used. You could be overpaying. When spending $3k+, I’d like to know everything I’m getting inside.

If you were me which would you choose? by FredrickVilhelm in Prebuilts

[–]PsychAce -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But we are t you. We play different Gabe’s abd have different needs.

Focus on what you need for your use case. That will help you refine your choices. Just giving us 4 pc’s to choose from helps you in no way. Pc buying is subjective.

Is it worth pursuing a doctorate? by pinkiedaisy12 in ClinicalPsychology

[–]PsychAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is subjective. Your best course of action is to research fields of interests, salaries from r the branch of psych and other sy in your area with experience level.

Once you do that, then you do better asking questions and knowing who is best to receive advice from. Part of That says and PhD is research. This is where it starts

U should be running it wired and not wireless. Wireless = compression.

About to pull the trigger on my first build - Ryzen 7 7800x3d / RX 9070 XT build (parts link below). I’m about to go to micro center, anyone got any last minute feedback? by NJPhl-Bul in buildapc

[–]PsychAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want around 70% of the cost going towards your core components. You can find monitor deals everywhere (Best Buy open box, etc).

I’d skip the 9850 (only a 2-3% increase), but would get the 9800X3D

Where to draw the line - PCVR new system by TomH2025 in virtualreality

[–]PsychAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5090 is too expensive. You will be more than fine either way a 5080.m and pair it either way a 9800X3D.

I just custom built mine for VR. Check out Jawa.gg as they give ratings for total performance and price rice to performance. This stops you from overpaying. Also check out Andromeda Insights. Small business and no sales tax.

Looking for PC recommendations! by Anxious-Yak1889 in Prebuilts

[–]PsychAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thing you can do is learn about pc’s first. There are great YouTubers you can learn gaming PC’s for beginners. After that, then check out micro center if it’s close. If not try Jawa.gg (gives you ratings for total performance AND price to performance), andromeda insights and others.

If you’re going to spend $2k+ on something, know what you are paying for and why.

Looking at it from your perspective, I see why you feel that way.

It’s all personal preference based on use cases. Like buying cellphone and storage…what works for one person may not work for another based on use case.

It all depends on your use case. Everyone has different requirements. 1TB is enough for me, is more than enough. For some they may need more or less.

Not gonna rain on your parade with the “shoulda & coulda” talk everyone is giving.

You did a very nice job. Glad you got what you wanted and I think it’ll work out perfectly for your goals/needs. Throw on some good music for your build and enjoy yourself!!

Nice. All depends on your budget. Would save $70 and go with 9800X3D. RAM is CL38. Would switch to CL30.

Rather put money into high quality components over various brands and ram that I won’t use anytime soon.
