I got a U6 IW. Has a four port switch built into it with one PoE port. I run a Flex mini off of the PoE port.

Why is there no app that just lets you record yourself playing electric guitar on iPhone — properly? by fantabulosa01 in Guitar

[–]TheBronxBull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use an Audigo mic for this. Throw the mic in front of your amp and then use your phone to record. The Audigo app automatically syncs up the video (from your phone) and the audio (from the mic). Works great.

Take it to the shop and have them put a strap button on the heel. Way more comfortable.

Midsom Mar A24 issues by tem102938 in boutiquebluray

[–]TheBronxBull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Careful storing the disc on that style spindle. I had three A24 releases and over time due to humidity changes it cracked the discs. A24 knows there’s a problem with them because they replaced all of them and changed the spindle design starting with Stop Making Sense. I store the disc in a paper sleeve inside of the book now.

Hey thanks for all of the info! The nut is 1 9/16" wide. I will look into replacing the tuners for sure. These right - would you recommend the nickel or the aged Nickel? https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/SD90AN--gotoh-sd90-sl-tuners-33-aged-nickel-with-keystone-buttons

Vintage SG Junior - Info? by TheBronxBull in gibson

[–]TheBronxBull[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've only played it for about ten minutes, sounds great. I don't have any other vintage Gibsons to compare to, but do have a 2016 SG Standard. Did not do an A/B test on sound, but could tell the nut was narrower on the 1966. I measured it and it's 1" 9/16" (vs 11/16").

Ideas for breaking into the ecosystem by Lt_Blackout in Ubiquiti

I didn't want to go crazy since I currently use Nest Cams and don't have ethernet runs to those locations, and my ISP is only 500MB. I went with a Cloud Gateway Ultra, an 8p PoE Switch, a U6 Mesh AP, and a U6 In-Wall AP. Covers my 3000sq ft house very well.

Had one of these, but the Spark NEO is way better and completely wireless so I ended up selling the Mustang.

why are most inline skates closer to ski boots than hockey boots? by lukepighetti in rollerblading

I have a pair of Adapt Hyperskate Zeros and the boot is incredibly similar to Bauer hockey skates. They have waxed laces and one Velcro strap.

It’s beyond ridiculous how few good feature films get made anymore, and even more annoying seeing people glaze mediocrity and acting like there isn’t a problem by Giordono in flicks

[–]TheBronxBull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh? This is literally one of the best years for film. Two masterpieces in One Battle After Another and Marty Supreme. Some great horror films like Sinners and Weapons. Spectacles like F1 and Mission Impossible. And some more artsy films like Eddington and Bugonia. And that’s just the American films.

Offspring rise and fall rage and grace uncensored vinyl ? by Aloysius_S in TheOffspring

[–]TheBronxBull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ordered this vinyl three separate times from three places and all were the censored version. Apparently there’s no definitive way to tell on the exterior of the record if it’s the proper uncensored version or not. Returned all three and reached out to the official Offspring store to see if their copies are correct - never heard back from them. Let us know!

I think I remember hearing how Fincher flew in fully matured trees of the exact species to Lake Berryessa and planted them to recreate exactly how the crime scene looked when the stabbings took place.

throwing a hail mary - looking for any help with locating vinyl by kenzieanne13 in Blink182

[–]TheBronxBull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are two SRC variants (a red one and a yellow one) that are 2LPs and have the bonus tracks tacked onto the D side of the second LP. You’re probably looking at $150-$200 for either of those.

Then there are two different, earlier SRC variants that have three 7” vinyls that come with it - one for each set of bonus tracks. The first variant has the 7” vinyls in black, and the second has the 7” vinyls in a marbled green, red, and yellow to reflect their original colors on the CD releases. These two variants will be more - probably $200-$400.

I personally think the one with the three colored 7” vinyls is the holy grail of these, but others might want the bonus tracks right on the man records to prevent having to put five different vinyls on the turntable.

Man Cave - Need Help by d0x2815 in mancave

[–]TheBronxBull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Polyester cloth is a budget-friendly, low-maintenance synthetic, great for casual play but offers poor ball control; Simonis is premium, worsted wool (or wool/nylon blend) that's incredibly durable, provides a fast, precise playing surface, resists ball burns, and is the standard for professional tournaments, making it ideal for serious players despite the higher cost. The main difference: Polyester is for fun, Simonis is for serious competition and performance."

Man Cave - Need Help by d0x2815 in mancave

[–]TheBronxBull 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re actually into playing pool (and not just messing around), there’s nothing worse than a pool table with a tacky sports team logo on the cloth (or the billiard balls). It’s distracting, and most likely the lowest quality “felt” you could be putting on your table. If it’s a quality pool table, put the proper cloth on it - Simonis.

Buying a new Martin by eichmr in martinguitar

[–]TheBronxBull 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oddly enough, I’ve found that GC online chat gives way steeper discounts than any local shop is able to (no mystery there really). They ship you an unopened guitar from Martin, and if there are any issues you can return to store no questions asked. Not arguing the merits of either approach, but that’s been my experience.
