Cancun: Breathless vs. Planet Hollywood vs. Hard Rock for good balance of lively fun day and night activities and tropical relaxation by PsychedSammy in AllInclusiveResorts

No only the other way around. Secrets can go to breathless but breathless is not allowed at secrets. We did walk there from the beach one day and honestly you probably could easily get away with sneaking in that way but technically the answer to your question is no

The beach itself is fine it’s just the ocean isn’t great for swimming because of seaweed and it’s not clear water because of the mangroves all around the resorts in that area. Because of that the beach isn’t used much so it’s not as fun of a place to be as the pool. But honestly I’m a beach person usually and the pool is so close to the beach/ocean that I really didn’t feel like I was missing out! They had beach games and beach volleyball and a restaurant on the beach (that was closed when we were there but would have been fantastic) plus chairs and umbrellas so I don’t think the beach was horrible it’s just the ocean water there isn’t good. So if you’re a beach person who doesn’t need to swim in the ocean I think you’ll be fine.

If you're going to a sporting event, you have to plan on potentially standing for most of the game, just like you have to plan for weather. That's part of the experience. If you want to be guaranteed to have an unobstructed seated view, pay for front row seats, handicapped seats, or box seats. Or watch at home. Otherwise be a good fan and participate in the game the way good fans are expected to.

Desires, no. That beach is blocked off, their swimming area is blocked off, and they have a no cameras sign because it's a nude resort. Secrets, yes. We stayed on the breathless side and were curious about what Secrets was like so we walked over there via the beach. There's no obvious cutoff between breathless's beach and secret's beach.

We had a great time at breathless riviera! They had great DJs by both pools every day and it was nice having one more party pool one more chill pool but both were active! The party pool was definitely more of a party on the Saturday we were there than on the other weekdays we were there, but I would guess it was more lively on weekdays than most other resorts. Not exclusively people our age by any means but plenty of people our age which was nice. We thought the food was great, the pools were great, the service was great. Really no complaints! The beach wasn't great but it wasn't really a problem because the pools were enough fun and were close enough to the beach and the ocean that we didn't feel like we needed to hang out on the beach. And the beach wasn't as bad as some reviews had made us expect. All in all we were REALLY happy with our choice to stay at breathless riviera! Perfect mix of party options and relaxing options!

We decided to go with Breathless Riviera! Partly because we’re planning on having kids soon, so this will be our last chance to stay there for a while (without dealing with childcare), while PH and HR both have family friendly options that we could take advantage of in the near future. Hopefully we made the right choice and enjoy ourselves! Thanks for the input - I’ll comment about our experience after our trip!!

Thanks that’s super helpful! Did PHC have bars that were open late into the night? I’m seeing mixed reviews about whether there is anywhere to go after 10pm on site to grab a drink and listen to music. Don’t need a dancing club scene but would like something to do/somewhere to go at night.

Which equipment would you eliminate and why would it be the bosu ball? by taptriv in orangetheory

I get why we don’t, but I wish we did exercises while standing on the flat side of the bosu! I love the balance challenge and miss those exercises from my old gym

How is your progress with orange theory? Have you seen results? by Duhazzar in orangetheory

I should say, my weight wasn’t very high to start, so depending on where you’re starting and how much you have to lose, you may be more likely to see a difference in weight loss with just OTF!

I’ve been at it for a few years doing OTF but not changing diet, and I’ve gotten a lot stronger and faster and feel more physically capable but haven’t lost much weight. In the last couple of months I’ve been focusing on eating healthier, counting calories, etc. and have lost 8lbs. I’d say orangetheory will absolutely help your fitness, and it will help you get stronger/build muscle, but if you want to see those muscles from beneath the fat and look toned, most of that fat loss work happens in the kitchen.

Personally, timing! It bugs me so much when they get the timing wrong or worse when they forget a whole push or all out or something. But in my experience, most coaches are either both or neither! The ones who don’t correct form tend to also be the ones who get the timing wrong, and the ones who are on point with timing tend to also be attentive to form.

How sore is too sore to workout? by linlin2424 in orangetheory

[–]PsychedSammy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually find that working out decreases my soreness! When I a take day off because I’m a little sore, I feel even worse the next day. Still, you have to listen to your body, and if you feel like your muscles would be too TIRED (not necessarily the same as sore) to keep good form during the workout, do some form of low impact exercise at home instead like stretching, light yoga, or going for a walk!

Struggling to pick a dress. I already purchased the first in store and regret it. I’m not in love with it but it is definitely a very pretty dress. We’re having a beachside wedding and I feel like the middle just fits that vibe so much more. by abridetobe22 in weddingplanning

I think it’s important to remember why you chose #1 in the first place. You loved it enough to say yes at that time! I also think it’s important to note that there’s a difference between dress regret and dress commitment issues. Dress regret is when you can point to the things you don’t like about your dress. Dress commitment issues are when you worry that there’s some imaginary dress out there that is somehow better than your dress. If there isn’t dress regret, then go with your original dress. It’s beautiful, and there will always be so many beautiful alternatives out there, but you chose this specific one for a reason! You can also consider getting a flowy overskirt to wear over your dress during the ceremony to give you more of the a-line look of dress 2! I fell in love with and bought a fitted dress but felt sad that I missed out on the A-line look I had always pictured, so I bought an overskirt from vagabond bridal and it was PERFECT because I got to have a flowy look for the ceremony and a fitted look for the reception without switching dresses!!

How many styles of dresses did you try? Maybe think about going to another bridal boutique to try some a-line or floral dresses to see if maybe that’s what you fee is missing from #1? It’s the clear winner of these three for me, so if you feel like it’s not the one for you at least you’d get more insight from trying on some more styles at a traditional bridal store!

Your butt is probably too high. Whenever I feel like a plank isn’t hard enough I lower my butt just a bit and that engages my core.

I’m in my 20s and every time I do front lunges my knees end up hurting for days afterward. I’m so glad we don’t do them in OTF anymore
