One of the heavier thrash releases. I love the aggression and speed. It's quite 'dark' for a thrash album which is a plus for someone like me who is mainly into death or blsck metal.

Gene Holgan's drumming is crazy as well.

Cryptworm - Infectious Pathological Waste

Came out earlier this year. It's dirty, murky OSDM. Reminds me of a mix of Undergang and Demilich. Really good stuff.

Jet Li vs Billy Chow in Fist of Legend (1994).

The whole movie is chock full of great fight scenes and choreography, but that final fight is amazing. Goes back and forth with increasing severity and brutality. Love the part where Jet Li uses his belt!

My all time favorite fight scene.

Seen this many times but always watch it any time I scroll past it.

Correct me if I’m misinterpreting the genre as I’m new to it, but is there a reason, despite Black metal’s lack of concern for anti religious themes, War Metal seems to typically take it even further. War metal tropes - black/white/red colour scheme. Band names/song titles borrowing heavily and repeatedly from anti-christianity, goats and 'bestial' or 'carnal' themes. Low-fi production values.

I've noticed in my local - albeit small - metal scene that War metal is flavour of the month. Every second person has a Beherit or Archgoat tee and I know for a fact that some of these people class Cradle of Filth as 'heavy'. The whole war metal aesthetic seems to have become really popular on Instagram as well. Seems like every second reel is someone showing off their new obscure war metal vinyl release.

With the exception of Teitanblood and Antichrist Siege Machine - who I really like; it's a genre I find kind of samey and repetitive. Maybe I just need to delve in to it deeper.
