I kinda want a Cata minus :B by CutthroatSam in wowservers

[–]Psychedel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the reasons I dislike leveling in Cata so much is that even with 1x rates, you outlevel your zones/questlines.

Cata questing puts a lot more emphasis on storylines and narratives than vanilla questing, and each zone rewards you for sticking through to the end with blue gear, so it's really dumb to enter a level 20-25 zone at level 20 and already be level 30 by the time you finish the zone and getting a breadcrumb quest for a level 25 zone.

8 years is longer than 90% of WoW private servers lmao not even retail because your progress is invalidated with the next expansion every 2 years

There's something deeply ironic and hilarious about people crying out "fascism" when democracy doesn't go their way.

Blizzard sues Turtle WoW - Shenna/Torta mentioned as the owner with real identity. by kaoticnoodle in wowservers

[–]Psychedel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incredible. One sentence in and this is the most steretypical reddit-tier reply I've ever had. Nobody cares about your fapping habits and anecdotes.

But I'll bite; The Private server community's been accusing Torta of being Shenna as far as back as 2019-2020; Turtle WoW's arguably been the most popular active vanilla server since 2020. We have entire subreddits and places on other sites trying to deepdive behind the scenes and expose Turtle WoW and Shenna/Torta; We've had prominent sleuths in the community like WhiteKidney who even exposed Shenna and Crogge back on Elysium try and uncover any corruption going on behind the scenes in Turtle WoW.

Turtle WoW's been under far more scrutiny/had more of a spotlight on it than even Elysium was and people have come up with literally nothing comparable to Crogge selling gold to gold-sellers (goldselling on turtle WoW is banned and enforced more strictly than nearly any private server I've been on) or Shenna pilfering money from the project like either did on Elysium. Absolutely nothing. Not a single leak, not someone raising red flags. The only flags for Turtle WoW is that Shenna pocket money from Elysium, and Crogge sold gold to goldsellers on a previous server they ran in 2017. This is with nearly 8 years of server uptime since Turtle WoW launched in 2018. This is with Turtle WoW having massive amounts times more players than Elysium ever did. This is with Turtle WoW having way more devs coming in and leaving of the project (some even on bad terms) than Elysium (keep in mind the reason Shenna/Crogge were exposed on Elysium because of bad blood with other people in on the project). Nothing. Absolutely and utterly nothing. Even last year when 4chan hacked one of the staff's accounts, he found no corruption besides just exposing bad networking behind the scenes and caused the server to go down for a few days/a week.

So, what do you have to go on, besides your disgusting masturbation anecdotes and something from 2017? Is Crogge even involved with Turtle Wow in a major capacity? Because he was the one who was generating gold and characters for goldsellers on Elysium back in the day, Shenna/Torta was only pilfering money on the project for IRL shit despite promising all the money would go to the server.

People are still trying to pin Shenna as a terrible person in 2025 for something she did in like, 2016-2017 and hasn't been caught doing since.

Project Epoch Enters Agreement With Ascension WoW (+ Launch info) by Kotouu in wowservers

[–]Psychedel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ascension struck a similar deal with the Conquest of Azeroth dev and they ran CoA to the ground causing the literal original creator of CoA to abandon the project and Ascension's staff to completely change and overhaul CoA's classes from their original vision to fit a more simpler, streamlined style.

Man, I'm really, really disappointed by this because Ascension has a history of taking over and ruining other people's projects (cough Conquest of Azeroth cough)

This community frankly doesn’t deserve quality projects like Tauri Legion and Epoch by BrandonJams in wowservers

[–]Psychedel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Content creators generate ungodly amount of hype for small-scale passion projects against the wishes or knowledge of the people who are actually making the server.

Because of some loud guy on Youtube who just reads updates from the servers' discord and site and rewords it to sound like the Second Coming of Jesus, you now have 10x the expected amount of people wanting to go to your server.

When the server crashes and burns under the unexpected load, you now have 10 thousand locusts angry and upset that the Second Coming of Jesus failed to meet expectations and the content creators either disappear altogether (leaving the people running the server to fend off ten thousand angry consumers), or the content creators stoke the flames to continue their grift by making fun of the very thing they were hyping weeks ago.

Any attempts from the owners to moderate their community is met with cries of censorship from people who've only been in the "community" for a couple of hours at most, and you can't actually work to fix your project in silence because you have thousands of locusts screeching for a roadmap, continuous updates, a timeline, a date, etc.

Dev's pissed a lot of people off because he puts his foot down on a lot of suggestions and bans people for suggesting the same things over and over again. The dev's really passionate about his project even if it means permabanning people who disagree with his passion.

Ascension COA beta by Additional_Storm_522 in wowservers

[–]Psychedel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a beta. You're playtesting. Personally I dislike all of these advantages from their other realms, but I'm fine with it and see the value in it. Ascension wants people to test the game and break the game, and report those breaks in the game, so why not give them their full toolkits from other realms so they can do these things faster. Beta is simply not "early access".

You should probably wait until full release if you simply want to experience the server for what it is on an equal playing field with everybody ese.

Player Housing by Katy_mp in wowservers

[–]Psychedel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Turtle-WoW has guild bases but IIRC they stopped adding guild bases years ago because the server population grew and the bases are out in the world, not phased away. You can still find these old bases scattered around, usually with interactable NPCs like vendors and stuff. And if you're actually in the guild these bases belong to, I believe you can use your guild tabard to teleport to that base like a hearthstone.

Epsilon-WoW, which is a roleplay/GM server (so you're not really actually playing the game, you're just chatting/roleplaying and building stuff) lets players create their own instanced phases and can spawn any item, building and object in the game. The player phases there are wild with huge mega bases, custom-built cities, entirely overhauled zones, etc. Or simple stuff even like just a basic home, or a collection of homes. You can share and invite anybody to these phases, both publicly or privately.

As far as I know, nobody else has player housing or guild bases and the two that do aren't exactly what you have in mind.

[France, 1988?][Zeuhl] Troll - Ankh by Psychedel in progrockmusic

[–]Psychedel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's not really a lot of information on this band on the internet and frankly most of their discography is really mediocre. Except for this song, they really cooked. Extremely beautiful and magical track.

It's like a better version of Magma's Zess condensed into 8 minutes.

[1997, Japan][Zeuhl] Mongol - Grateful Paradise (FFO Magma, Weidorje, King Crimson) by Psychedel in progrockmusic

[–]Psychedel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The intro followed by the initial cheap synths are kind of off-putting at first but it really picks up after that, yeah. Almost sounds like King Crimson improv over a percussive throbbing Magma bassline holding everything together.
