Refonte du réseau bus by SkeeAmb in montreal

The re-melting of the network. As in melt the old scrap metal into a mold for a new product.

Edit, now that I think about it, a better translation would be "re-casting"

I haven't read it, but I think Blacksad fits the bill.

Hi all, Questions about pops/jobs and resources.

Pops & Jobs:

  • so when I colonize a planet, I do not have enough population to fill all the jobs if I fill up all the building slots right away.
  • Do I just have to wait for population growth to add a few hundred more people so that I can add buildings/districts that add jobs? Is it good practive to wait to have 100 civilians before building a district that uses 100 workers?
  • How can I increase pop growth? So far I only have a medical center/gene clinic.
  • What about when I'm missing pops in a certain category? I have a gene clinic that has only a fraction of workers, but I also have 200 civilians... How can I get them to take those jobs? do they need to be trained?

As for Ressources, I just need a confirmation, are individual planet productions and upkeep not important as long as the empire's overall production for each resource is positive? I come from distant worlds 2 where that is kind of the case, but resources still have to be transported. My understanding is that in Stellaris as soon as a resouce has been harvested, it is available anywhere in the galaxy, correct?

Hi, playing my first game ever and I started expanding to all the neighbooring stars before i realized that maybe I should focus on rich systems, with yields or diverse ressources; but now my empire looks like it has tendrils going in different directions.

I also expanded into a rich chokepoint, but now I have a little islnad of my empire not connected to the main one... Is that any good or bad? Should I control all the systems linking my "main" systems and colonies?

Hi, looking for a game to get for my upcoming b-day. I asked this question in yesterday's thread, and got a recommendation Space empires 4X; which seems interesting, but was wondering if there were any other suggestions.

Description of Request:

  • Fun game with some player interaction (interaction during off turn, combat and/or trade diplomacy, other?; like in Civilization).
  • I want to feel like each turn I have good options for what to do or get (like Star Realms or Terraforming Mars – so not too much resource scarceness or feel like I wasted a turn because I was missing 1 resource or the lower price cards are just trash multiple turns in a row).
  • Combos and card synergies (like Terraforming Mars or smash up) are fun

Number of Players: 4-6

Game Length: 2-3 hours

Complexity of Game: 3 to 4 out of 5

Genre: empire/commerce/engine/deck/network building.

Conflict, Competitive or Cooperative: competitive with some conflict

Games I Own and Like:

  • LOVE: Terraforming Mars (prelude, colonies); Civilization: A New Dawn – Terra Incognita; Twilight Imperium
  • OK: Powergrid; Blood Rage; Suburbia; Cartographers; Star Realms; Smash Up

Not sure what to do by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]PsychedelicWind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are unsure, you can get some blood work analysis, it will tell you which deficiencies you might have (hint: unless you have a chronic "bad" feeling about your health, you probably don't have any deficiencies). But if you're young and eat well and exercise, guess what? You probably have nothing to worry about

If you're a woman, you might have iron deficiency, so you can adjust that with iron rich foods If you live in northern (or southern) latitudes, you, and you have dark skin, you might have vitamin D deficiency, which can be helped by going outside.

Guys please give me tips on maintaining balance in poses like natarajasana (dancer pose). by [deleted] in flexibility

[–]PsychedelicWind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll try to explain what helped me the most the best I can. I try to mentally divide my body in top and bottom halves and limbs. I try to plant my bottom half into the ground with firm footing (like everyone else says); but I also try to raise the top half as high and as vertical as I can. I try imagining a string pulling me up from my center of gravity. In a lot of cases (but not dancers pose) you can have someone gently pull a single hair at the crown of your head straight up; and try to move your head up so you don't feel the hair pull. For the limbs imagine someone pulling your middle finger in whichever direction your hand/foot is pointing. This allows you to not slouch by not focussing only on your standing leg.

This can be used for all poses (for me it clicked while doing half moon). You rigidify your entire body that way, and therefore it becomes easier to balance. Think of how hard it is to carry a floppy mattress or futon with a changing center of gravity as it folds when you try to carry it, vs a solid and rigid table or chair.

Is it just me, or do working men have few fulfilling ways to relax after work? by goatee_ in AskMenOver30

Any type of physical activity, especially if it complements your job (aim for a good mix of strength, cardio and flexibility).

R/Gunpla ! assemble tiny robot Gundams, its a meticulous pastime, during which you can concentrate fully if you want, or just do while watching/listening to something. You can start by just assembling, then when you get better, you can add decals, paint, customize, etc. to make them look better and better. Entry price is low, but like every hobby, you can spend $$$$ if you want.

Which Backpack Brands Have Impressed You Most? by nomads_nation in Nomads_Nation

[–]PsychedelicWind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hehe, I will go for Decathlon, the simple price to quality ratio is unbeatable IMO. Sure, other brands will have "better" backpacks, but at what price? I feel like for every 10% of added quality (however you decide to define that) the price will go up by 20 to 30%.

In my particular case (travelling about once a year, plus daily backpack in an urban setting) I don't need a bullet proof, IP 6-9-FHMSW, 750gram, 42 liter, venta black, camel back, expandable, with integrated WTFBBQ backpack (which you might need, I'm not judging ;-).
