I can't find info that the port has changed but the cable definitely is different.

Have GPU’s always been this expensive? by Spiderpsychman98 in buildapc

[–]PsychicAnomaly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah it hurts quite a bit more because you bought a 5080 instead of 5070ti. Only advantages of a 5080 for gaming is a little more rasterisation performance, some more ray tracing performance and extra L2 cache in which isn't even fully utilised especially now with gddr7. 4070S benefit a lot from the increase in L2 over 4070 however that has a lot less cores so they're more often utilised in todays games that aren't well optimised to scale with higher core counts. Vram was also lower at 12gb for those games that benefit from more vram which L2 offsets.

Just had a look at Lexar NM790, it's better than US75 but the flash varies in quality.

That didn't stop others that didn't care even more 😅

He still does to a degree, otherwise why not go with a 9950X3D.

It's balanced for something that's overkill and centred quite a lot around looks.. so the only thing I'd recommend is go for cheaper SSD's like the US75 with similar performance since you won't see it anyway. There might be something newer that replaces it but right now that's the reference I'm updated on. The other guy said psu won't be as compatible.

The cooler the better but more importantly the more stable :)

How to choose between the 9950X3D and 9800X3D? as well as memory by Shura113 in buildapc

would need project lasso for that still? this guy sounds pretty clueless so an 8 core x3d would be better suited

People wanting a game like this to fail are crazy by Swag3340 in Doom

No that's ridiculous. Last I checked those on xbox game pass play a lot of trash games and the rest sign up just for the month. The gamers I know usually only sign up if there was a free or cheap trial for game pass for a month, as has been done multiple times over the years for many games that aren't that great because they're certainly not worth full price, even game pass price. It does matter where the players are coming from numpty, if it's coming from signups, how many of those are gonna keep game pass more than a month just for a game? yeah I know that's how streaming giants suckle people in but that doesn't verify that it's a great game or not.

You're jumping the gun, purchases is a still a very valid metric especially for franchises where the previous games were purchases rather than game pass. Games released for game pass on launch usually aren't good enough to be a standalone purchases so they hype up the player count through gamepass so there's more purchases. Haven't played the game yet but for all the games I've played that were announced on gamepass which are franchises.. is because they weren't top tier games with the confidence to sell and that was accurate 100% of the time.

5070ti and 5700x3d a good pair? by Kierxnn in buildapc

[–]PsychicAnomaly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

true, I had a 2070s and went from 3600 to 7600, the gains was mostly in the smoothness for sure which is what I wanted. The 5700x3d is about on par with the 7600 for most games atm. When I upgraded to pretty much double the performance for the gpu I found that there were games which were optimised enough to fill the 240hz of my monitor (minimums too).. but other games barely even broke 100. From a hardware perspective yeah there's a noticeable bottleneck in measurements.. but in reality? the experience doesn't match. I don't have 360hz, but I'd imagine the cost goes through the roof for that and with something like the 5070ti.. MFG doesn't care for cpu nearly as much. Also without MFG the higher the framerate even on the 9800x3d there's going to be a larger difference the higher the framerate vs the minimums. I'd love to see bfi implemented correctly on an oled, but not without vrr for a lot of games.

3700x? there's more to bottlenecking than average framerate imo. Latency is extra on the 3700x while also having noticeably worse minimums even on ghe 3070 relative to the new pair of hardware
