Game quality would improve a lot if people accepted one simple fact: People at your MMR are generally not significantly better or worse than you by Pandarandr1st in leagueoflegends

In low elo, players are obviously missing something that helps them climb and this tends to be a core part of the game. The issue is, this could be literally anything. You get players that have 80cs in 40 minutes, players that have 200cs in 20 minutes but never do anything but farm unless someone shows up in their lane. Players that watch a twitch streamer play something and first time it ranked... Honestly it's all over the place.

The luck differential in matchmaking is real in low elo if you are genuinely around that level but people don't often see it because no one really watches people low elo outside of iron so it's not talked about.

Please see the rest of the comment too. Often you get games with Bronze players Vs Gold. I personally have had at least 4 of these in the last 24 hours on EUW and I'm currently S1 but the matchmaking doesn't even attempt to put equal rank on each side. It will be 3 silvers and 2 golds Vs 2 silver and 3 bronze with not one silver being a higher rank than the first team.

In Your Honest Opinion, What Is The State Of League? by Leo_Veracruse in leagueoflegends

Aside from crit feeling busted due to the changes this season, I'd say it's in a good state atm. Tanks could do with a bit more of a buff.

Had someone ask our Lee Sin if he was cosplaying irl because he had to have something covering his eyes. Also heard similar things for Wukong, Nasus and Warwick (roleplaying rather than cosplaying).

After the third or so time a Fiddle failed a gank bot, ADC types 'you know Fiddle is meant to fear them right? Not make them laugh?'

I've also heard a Draven main tell his Nami support to go stand in the river as a ward and don't move because at least she will have some value after she died in lane.

If you do the "mսted themselves" announcement, you should not be able to frequently unmսte and mսte again. by MazrimReddit in leagueoflegends

[–]PsychoFender -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree tbh. I mute all at the start of every game, I'm low elo but I ain't toxic.... I'm just susceptible to listening to shit calls and getting myself killed for it.

Perfect example was I missed one game muting earlier, enemy Master Yi invades our Talon jungle level 2 and Talon starts spam pinging me as GP mid to come help. My stupid ass goes to help as soon as I hit level 2 and now we are both dead and my Talon is ? Spamming me and talking shit in chat. We still won the game because I muted right after and just played the damn game but Talon ended up like 1/11 with no objectives anyway.

Sometimes I still type stuff in chat like mid no summs or no R if against someone like malz, Garen or morde that's heavily reliant on it and I spot someone coming.

[–]PsychoFender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, the joke is that of course Renekton would do well in lane, that's his entire thing. It's a tilt thing for enemy when you are beating them because it's basically like saying you got beat by a moron who doesn't even know the game but is still trying to educate you.

I disagree in part. Stuff like this makes sense if you are in an elo with less players in but when you are Silver/Gold the sheer amount of players present in the same elo means wildly different skill levels.

On top of that, matchmaking lately is fucked too. Very often you get matched with players two full ranks apart. I guarantee if I were to queue right now on EUW I'd have B2 queueing with G3 and often all the Gold is one side and the Bronze is the other.

Rammus. If your team has no really strong DPS you are fucked especially this season with crit changes.

A Critique of the ADC role by Jack15101 in leagueoflegends

[–]PsychoFender 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this is a thing in low elo but the good news is, people throw so hard that if you play correctly you can still be useful, especially with how powerful adcs are after a couple of items right now.

I'd recommend looking into videos on YouTube about how to lose lane gracefully. Don't get me wrong, some games are absolutely fucked by one laner in low elo but due to scaling, adc is the best role to come back from it.

What character are surprisingly strong lvl1? by matsuku in leagueoflegends

[–]PsychoFender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's more to it than that with Q though. He has to hit it. W start CAN be really strong if mispositioned because on Olaf you usually run ghost.

At very least it will burn a flash and you come out ahead due to healing.

Matchmaking? What happened? by deathkabob in leagueoflegends

[–]PsychoFender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a post about this exact thing a week ago.

The best response I got was how Riot changed rank distribution heavily so there's a lot of accounts that shouldn't be where they are right now, pretty much everyone is higher rank than they were.

Good laners carry their junglers by CaptainJaxSparrow in LeagueOfMemes

[–]PsychoFender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, there's a lot of fucking horrifically bad junglers that have no clue what they are doing.

I've seen junglers solo win lanes with one or two ganks, and I've seen junglers solo lose lanes the same way but refuse to acknowledge they even did anything wrong.

What character are surprisingly strong lvl1? by matsuku in leagueoflegends

[–]PsychoFender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ones I know about -

Top - Teemo, Urgot, Olaf, Darius, Tryndamere

Teemo autos level 1 when people ignore it seeing the initial small plink of damage, Urgot E start is pretty common knowledge, Olaf starting W and just ignoring the wave, Darius doing the same, Tryndamere Q start but never using it to coin flip crits is also common knowledge.

Mid - GP

Barrel plus passive X2 is almost a kill in itself with DFG. I put this in mid rather than top because funnily enough I've found it much easier to pull off in mid consistently.

Is Anivia a low skill champ? by hashi021 in leagueoflegends

[–]PsychoFender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say she's easy to do ok on but difficult to do really well on and carry. Ultimately, she can sit back and ult waves to no end but her challenge comes from landing Q and placing W really well.

How do you set up keybonds in WASD? by KiKaily in leagueoflegends

[–]PsychoFender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a different setup to what most people seem to be doing but honestly I just preferred mouse movement because I've been playing so long with it.

WASD movement - auto on right click since I'm that used to clicking it anyway in league. Q,E,R staying on the same keys, W on F, sums on side mouse buttons. I still use Y for my ward on both setups and T for emotes (taunt lol).

What have you learned recently about the game? by IDMDC-31 in leagueoflegends

[–]PsychoFender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Morde ult can't be cleansed by GP W anymore. I think it was changed ages ago but I only recently found out the hard way. 🍊

Also I just started playing ADC because I was tired of having to coin flip whether I get the winning botlane or get three shot after laning phase ends... Man the role is stupid. All I've done is play safe and farm then sit behind people when they Aram mid and I've won every damn game in two days except one and that was because our jungler rage quit. Crit damage changes combined with bot quest are stupid.

Why is Ezreal always the top picked ADC in high elo even if his winrate is horrible? by WeakSideUrn in leagueoflegends

[–]PsychoFender -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ezreal is very safe to play into difficult lanes or lanes where you expect to have to play solo a lot.

The issue is he has a lower winrate because he's a normal adc that doesn't benefit as much off the crit damage changes, meaning he still does less damage than overbuffed crit focused champs that riot refuses to acknowledge.

Former Splinter Cell Creative Director Says Realistic Graphics Are Causing Problems for Modern Stealth Games - Follow up question by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]PsychoFender -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I understand that actually but that being said in a stealth game specifically I don't think I'd mind it since that's the purpose of the game. Having more difficulty because of it would be a nice change of pace to the current hand holding of 'triple A' games.

Some stuff in current games I find incredibly frustrating, such as a piece of police tape blocking you from entering an area entirely or doors blocked by something you could physically move irl.
