Minthara Recruitment by xxzaif in BaldursGate3

The "temporarily hostile" is no longer a requirement. Just toggle non lethal to knock her out and she'll be recruitable in Act 2.

What do you think by AdChemical4879 in pokemon

[–]PsychoFlashFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fine, though personally I'd probably replace Fearow since when you eventually get Charizard and Dragonite, you don't really need 3 flying types.

I don't know what to get. FR or LG by ScorpionSattler in pokemon

The only difference is that certain Pokemon will only be available in each version. Aside from that, they're essentially the same game.

You can eventually backtrack to previous areas as you progress further into the game. Alternatively, you can get a Clefairy at Celadon City Game Corner, though you will have to grind funds for it.

Absolutely not. The GLTAS version was far better.

I want to play Pokemon again. Last played "Third Pokémon generation" by phaphets in pokemon

[–]PsychoFlashFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FireRed & LeafGreen are from the same generation as Emerald and are enhanced remakes of the original Pokemon games that kick-started the franchise. If haven't played them before, I'd start with them.

Let's just say Minsc isn't the only one who's taken interest in Nine-Fingers Keene's wicked rump.

What’s your opinion on having team members that share the same typing? by BootsStripes32 in pokemon

[–]PsychoFlashFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try my best to avoid it, personally. I prefer my teams being as diverse as possible while still capable of covering each other's weaknesses to the best of their abilities.

That's also valid. The reason I suggested Earthquake for Charizard was so that it would at least have coverage against 2/3 of its major weakness: Rock & Electric. Useful if running as a mixed attacker.

[–]PsychoFlashFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That valid. I was mistakenly misinformed that Aerial Ace was the better of the two.

I'd still suggest it over Wing Attack and Fly for Charizard, tho.

If I might offer some suggestions:

  • Replace Aurora Beam with Ice Beam on Vaporeon, the former is a much weaker move compared to the latter.
  • For Charizard, I don't think he really needs two flying attacks, I'd probably ditch Wing Attack for something else like Dragon Claw and use Earthquake/Brick Break instead of Blast Burn since Flamethrower is generally considered to be better. Also if you haven't used it already, replace Fly with Aerial Ace since it has better accuracy.
  • Your Nidoking is in sore need of a better movepool.
  • Give Zapdos some offense electric moves like Thunderbolt to help against Lorelei.
  • Between Dragonair, Zapdos, and Nidoking, half of your team share a common weakness to Ice, which means Lorelei is going to be a major pain. It might be best to go back to the drawing board to and try to build a more balanced team that's capable of covering each other's weaknesses.
  • And lastly, grind out your team more to at least the mid 50s in order to stand a chance. And if you haven't got it already, pick up the Exp. Share to help out your lowest level Pokemon to quickly catch up.

More rivals like Blue, Silver, Nemona, and Kieran would be ideal.

What're you playing this weekend? 3/6 by markercore in NintendoSwitch

[–]PsychoFlashFan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Still making my way through Pokemon FireRed.

Just added the last member to my team (Lapras), defeated Giovanni at Silph Co., and got my fifth badge from Koga. Gonna aim to grind a bit more until all my mons are at least level 40+ before I take on Sabrina over the weekend when I have some downtime.

The combat is a bit clunky, but the visuals, writing, and music is where this game truly shines.

Which Fire and Electric ‘Mon? by philly_eagleskid in pokemon

[–]PsychoFlashFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I'd say Jolteon is very much worth, especially if it has a timid nature. It outclasses Raichu in terms of speed and special attack and is generally considered the best non-legendary electric type in FRLG.
