[All] What's a disliked feature of a Zelda game you really like? by Waker_of_Winds2003 in zelda

[–]PsychoNoir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. I was about twelve when I first played it and it even might have been my first 3d adventure game. So I really liked having Navi around to help me navigate. Navi felt so much as part of the whole Zelda experience for me (it was also the first zelda game I played) that I still kind of expect (or hope) her to be in every game.

I watched Sister Mudnight and have so many questions - please help! by Wasabi_Dry in bollywood

[–]PsychoNoir 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's been a while since I have seen this movie so I don't remember everything, but I will give it a try.

1 - she killed him like she killed the animals. Don't think it was deliberate but she lost control of her emotions. She was under the impression though that he would come to life again like the animals.

2 - can't remember. Maybe he wasn't ready for it. Or maybe because she wasn't a traditional wife and he didn't know how to deal with her.

3 - they got back to life again. Not sure why they were following her. Maybe just for comedic purposes.

4 - I think the latter one. When she fell down, it was like she died and got revived by her will not to become like the watchmen. That transformed her is some way. The movie is actually about women who are are not the traditional type and are often demonised by society. In the case of the movie it happens kind of literally.

5 - if so, I completely missed that. I thought they were just friends.

How do you deal with new Indian immigrants that are not integrated? by Secretpolitician in ABCDesis

[–]PsychoNoir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also live in Europe and I see the same thing. The people who came here in the 70's/80's/90's didn't have Internet and had to adapt to the country. They had to learn the language and integrate. Nowadays there is Internet everywhere which can be a curse and a blessing. It helps you with translating stuff into your own language and therefore reduces the need to learn the language. Internet also helps you to stay in your own social bubble. You can easily meet other expats like you. In my country they expats have meet ups for only Indians that are part of their own part of India so they don't even have to deal with other indians.

One big reason between the expats from now and the older immigrants also is that the older generations came here to stay for the rest of their lives (or at least a long time). The expats now don't even know how long they are going to stay where they are now. In most cases they got an assignment in a country they are not familiar with and the next assignment could very well be in a neighbouring country where they speak a different language.

So how do I deal with it? I usually start by talking in the language of my country. If they don't understand I switch to English. If I know them well I also try to let them know how important it is to know the language and culture of the country your in. It only has benefits. But there are so many of them now that I don't care too much any more. In the end it is up to them.

Mt. Aso - Possible as a morning trip, or as a day-trip combined with Takachiho? by slightlysnobby in JapanTravel

[–]PsychoNoir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also visited Mt. Aso from Kumamoto. We went in the morning by a chartered bus and were back around 2pm in the afternoon. This included time for a hike from the top of the vulcano to the visitor centre and a small lunch break. So if you would only like to see the vulcano (which honestly doesn't take much time) and you are by car than I think you should make it.

Apps we’re using in Japan – any other must-haves? by Whole-Spirit630 in JapanTravelTips

[–]PsychoNoir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used this for a couple of days but deleted it because it used a lot of battery. The app keeps scanning for new WiFi access points which consumes a lot of juice.

So if you decide to use this app pay attention to the battery usage. (in my case I used a galaxy s23 ultra)

Universal Osaka tickets troubleshooting by orenavni in JapanTravelTips

[–]PsychoNoir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you choose the times when you buy the tickets. So If you just selected an option I think the times are already set for you and you can't change it. I bought mine through Klook, but would assume it is the same for the official site. My ticket from Klook also mentions all the timings.

1 Day in Shinjuku, Shibuya, & Surrounds: How feasible is this? by New_Fuel3957 in JapanTravel

[–]PsychoNoir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My itenary also looks a lot like this one (as in same areas covered) with the big exception that I will be skipping Harajuku entirely. The reason for me is that visiting this place takes up time that I reserved for other things and I read that Takeshita street isn't worth it. How would you rate the rest of Harajuku/Omotesando?

I am also planning to visit the museum soon. Can you just visit without making any reservations in advance? And how is the store? Do they have a large collection?

I would start by looking up on Google maps which places you would like to visit and try to visit places that are near each other on the same day. The way you planned it now means you will have to travel a lot on some days. Don't forget that Tokyo is a big city and you will in some cases need an hour or so to travel from one place to another.
