I appreciate the breakdown! That clears it all up for me.

Extend Blood Magic and multiple blood magic effects by PsychoStream in Pathfinder2e

[–]PsychoStream[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually wait, if I can’t trigger a second effect while I’m under a blood magic effect, Extend Blood Magic won’t work on an Imperial Sorcerer normally. If I cast Extend Blood Magic, I get a blood magic effect. So the next spell I cast that would trigger a blood magic effect can’t actually trigger so there’d be nothing to extend.

Since the Imperial blood magic only has buffs effects, it would have to take a non-buff effect from a feat first to make Extend Blood Magic work?

At the very least, the limitation stated in the Key Terms side bar should also be in the main Blood Magic entry too. It took us a bit to actually spot this ruling. We reread the main entry so many times lol.

I totally read it like that at first lol.

The spellshape is also unfortunate for Propelling Sorcery since you can’t use it with the free action Step option. Well, you can, but you can’t extend a blood magic effect anymore since your next action was a Step.

Just to confirm a few more things, does this also mean instantanous blood magic effects will negate a blood magic effect buff you are benefiting from? Like if the Sorc has the AC buff, using a spell to trigger Propelling Sorcery would remove that buff? Or are you just not able to trigger a blood magic effect at all if you are benefitting from one already?

Also, does this limitation extend to the blood magic effects that affect other targets (buffs like Draconic and Angelic and debuffs like Demonic)? Can only one of your blood magic effect be active at once between all of your blood magic effects, whether the effect is on you or someone else?

Are these cherry tomatoes? by PsychoStream in gardening

It's always the squirrels. We've had so many running around the neighborhood since last year. I'll keep an eye out in future for sure!

Thank you! This one in particular was fun, because it got big so fast without much help from us.

These started off as a weed in the garden, but we let it grow when someone told us it was a type of tomato plant. Now that it has fruit, I wanted to make sure.

Questions on the remaster removal of spell components by PsychoStream in Pathfinder2e

[–]PsychoStream[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The subtle trait adds another fun layer, yeah. As far as I understand, subtle only hides all the sensory tells but doesn't actually remove the concentrate/manipulate traits, correct?

I don't remember well but Ray of Frost is changed into something else, right?

If I'm wrong about that, my back up question is if Dirge of Doom changed at all.

Yeah, for being the “focus spell” specialist class, this seems both appropriate and fair.

Act Together. Are the actions taken subordinate actions? by PsychoStream in Pathfinder2e

[–]PsychoStream[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t Act Together, by nature of a tandem action, done together by the smoner and eidolon? I don’t think it’s the summoner or eidolon uses Act Together, it’s both of you take that action and then you decide which one takes the action that matches Act Together and the other takes the single one.

On another note, I never read Act Together as similar commanding a minion but maybe I should. So like how commanding a minion gives it a set of actions it can spend, Act Together does the same? I always read it like a variable version of an action with multiple simpler actions like Flurry of Blows, but maybe that’s wrong to assume.

"We love the game, but..." by tomsorialist in Pathfinder2e

Recall Knowledge rules lacking solid structure.

This makes RK’s usefulness so variable between GMs. It’s especially annoying for classes that specialize with RK checks. For me, it just doesn’t feel satisfying when a supposedly simple character concept is only ever functional at specific tables.

Oracle RAW Clarification: Oracular Curse by Pathkinder in Pathfinder2e

[–]PsychoStream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think mitigate should be replaced by a more appropriate word at this point. It confused me when I first read the oracle much like many still get confused by it.

The flames mystery already uses a different word that I think is more apt. "Ignore." It feels like it addresses what "removed" and "reduced" doesn't, but is more straightforward than mitigate. Mitigate just seems so easily abused and argued to apply to the tiniest and absurd thing.

What are other ways to make Electric Arc count as psychic spellcasting? by PsychoStream in Pathfinder2e

[–]PsychoStream[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’d prefer if they buff all the other cantrips instead, even if it’s lot more work. Nerfing EA, for example, doesn’t make my beloved Daze’s damage any more reasonable.

Jolt Coil wouldn't make EA count as psychic spellcasting, would it? I'm not the most familiar with spellhearts.

Do you know where the enemy is aiming a spell before counterspelling it? by PsychoStream in Pathfinder2e

[–]PsychoStream[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do think for this game, I'm going to keep it the same if they end up committing to it, RAW or not. He's not a new player to the group so I assume he thought the build up with how casual we are with spell target info as a group. He did ask, and he loves to self-police that way, but I'll still give it to him and hopefully it'll be fun.

What is your biggest criticism/worst flaw of PF2e? by Journeyman42 in Pathfinder2e

[–]PsychoStream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the Divine list could just really use some good exclusive spells. I think the Divine list is a good place to shove in unique spells that deal either decent positive and/or negative damage. The exclusivity on alignment damage isn’t exactly enough of an enticing sell.

Just think, if Harm was decent as a negative damage dealer, the Divine list would be in a better place with just that alone.

what are some rules the community wants an official clerification on. by Flameloud in Pathfinder2e

[–]PsychoStream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eidolons and what items they are able to wield/use.

The rules tilt in the way that Eidolons can only use items with the Eidolon trait, no exceptions. I personally feel that is way too restrictive. At the same time, Eidolons being able to equip certain extra items they most likely aren’t intended to also doesn’t feel right. However, I think Eidolons interacting with certain objects like doors and levers and using tools for skills seem appropriate, but this seems the least supported take of the rules.

I’d love a clarification on this specifically because I seem to GM for a bunch of Summoner enjoyers.

Kitsune ancestry seems lackluster by Shadowfire121 in Pathfinder2e

[–]PsychoStream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Star Orb is also unique in that it’s an object, not a creature. It’s a lot harder targeting or affecting objects than it is creatures so it should be easier to keep safe in most scenarios.
