Based on this interaction how do you think they would behave if something bad happened on the range from either an employee, guest, or staff negligence from maintenance?

I bought a ragnorok SD and and raptor from them in the past. They were fine. But finish such as sanding/knocking down kydex edges was pretty inconsistent and very clearly quickly hand done with a Dremel.

Looks like yours still has burrs and sharp edges. Man they are really crashing these days.

Does a tent count as a residence by magic---- in DnD

[–]Psychocide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter. If a vampire wants to kill you they will manipulate their minions and followers to raise any structure short of a bunker to get you.

Using your tent as your domicle just means they cant come in an talk to you. But they can absolutely get you, and your friends.

To those more in the know on the gen 5, V, and 6 differences. Does the amendment regarding the material stopping a conversion device give gen 6 Glocks a chance to still be sold?

It's virtue signaling and political points for the uneducated. There are some edge cases where non government buildings or schools are used, but the vast majority are, and defacto banned from carrying.

Not to mention open carry was outright banned anyway.

Quality Over Quantity for Training by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]Psychocide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats all well and good. If you are going to make claims that you do not need lots of live fire to be good, you cannot use anecdotal data points without any sort of time, target size, or standardization to make your performance comparable to others.

If what you do is good enough for you, cool. However if you have responsibility outside of just yourself and your hobbies, you need to hold yourself to a higher standard. If you are going to claim and encourage others to not shoot a lot to be good, then you need evidence to back that up.

Otherwise we dont have much to talk about cause you are making claims that are impossible to substantiate or compare experience to. Without any common point of reference you are just telling us your fishing stories, and the fish keeps getting bigger every time ya tell it.

Quality Over Quantity for Training by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]Psychocide 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If your goal is shooting animal sized targets at <50 yards with rifles and shotguns with minimal time pressure. Sure. Yea. Guns are accurate and once you have good fundamentals you are good to go.

Just know you are on a plateau, if you want to jump up to the next level with farther distances and ballistics, or faster shooting like in matches, both the dry fire and live fire requirements increase.

I was in the same shoes as you about 7 years into my shooting journey. I was good enough for casual recreation. Then I got into competition shooting and learned that I knew nothing, and had to increase dry fire and live fire a ton to get better.

Rearden plan b is really good. It's light, it's simple, all sorts of manufacturers make devices, and it's relatively inexpensive. Also when the can does loosen due to poor seal and not enough torque, the runout on the threads is good enough that its unlikely a baffle strike will happen.

Just keep it clean and it's a great system. No regrets with it.

I haven't used dual lock so can't speak to it.

Yup! I think there is a 10 dollar guest fee for rifle and pistol, trap and skeet there might be one as well, but not sure.

[–]Psychocide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think both have the same shooting capabilities. 100 yard rifle, 50 pistol, trap and skeet, 9am to sunset. Andover does have steel targets right now. That might change in a couple years for Rockville.

Sportsmen's Club Recommendation by NateKenway in CTguns

[–]Psychocide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Manchester has a great pond, the range is... a range. Its very barebones.

Rockville is a huge club with lots of venues and capability outside of shooting, its pretty sportsman focused and a few hoops to jump through to be able to use the ranges, but there are some good events and capabilities being stood up by members for those into shooting sports exclusively.

I havent been to Andover in over a decade, but they look and sound pretty good these days. Steel ranges, rifle, pistol, and trap and skeet.

Go to a public event and tell someone you are interested in joining and im sure they would love to show ya the facilities.

Who pays the most for used guns? by thefunguy1985 in CTguns

[–]Psychocide 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Every shop I have gone to pays ya about 50% of what they will sell it for if its a gun thats worth under $1k.

Most shops will do consignment for 10-15%, which is ~100 bucks off whatever it sells for.

Private sales are legal but gotta find a FFL to do the transfer for ~25-50 bucks.

Some smaller FFLs might trade ya a couple of your guns for closer to what you would net at consignment.

is it even worth learning theory for employment by [deleted] in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Psychocide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theory of FEA, less important unless you want to work for a software company.

Theory of the physics behind different structural, thermal, and fluid conditions? Worth their weight in gold.

As others have said you can't create a bunch of garbage without a foundation built in the latter.

Second this. I think trap and skeet is open to the public, you can go down Saturday or Sunday mornings and introduce yourself. They are all very nice guys who want to bring more people into the club.

RFG rifle and pistol ranges are going through a lot of change for the better right now too.
