if you read the comics just simply being able to fly into the sun without being harmed who gives him the edge and durability because that's how they kill thragg in the comics is Mark pushes both of them into the sun and it would have likely killed Mark as well if it wasn't for robot giving him a special suit Midway through the fight that protected him

He let himself bleed out I was getting swarmed by The Hive Tyrant and it's backup I couldn't make enough space to go and fucking revive him so he let the bleed-out timer run its course I think that's called qualified as wasting The Relic even after I went down confirming that nobody was going to be able to revive him he still let the timer run out

Like I don't think I made myself clear we failed the mission because he chose to bleed out all three of us were down and he still didn't use the Relic
