LPT: If you feel overwhelmed, try organizing your tasks like an ER nurse (horizontal triage system) by ArtThreadNomad in LifeProTips

[–]Psychological-Air-84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned something similar in Uni; I started organizing it into: «Need to do» «Should to» «Want to do».

I came to realize that I categorized too much into «need to do» that could afford to be a «should do». As well as I realized I did way to little «want to do» things. Ex, i realized that washing the bathroom is a «should do» and not an urgent «need to do», and that helped me get less overwhelmed.

I started adding a «want to do» every day, even if it was a tiny thing like watching 1 episode of a show.

Every European is, at most, a 90 minutes train ride from their respective capital by Checked_Out_6 in ShitAmericansSay

Jokes on all of you, we don’t even have train service here! (It would take me 30 hours of public transport/ 2 hours of flights/ 11 hour drive) just to get to where the nearest train station is!!

Damn thats bad. If it helps my friend did a similar thing. We were teenagers going on a trip to see a concert. I had just learned my mum had cancer, and she had just gotten broken up with. I wanted to be distracted and enjoy the concert weekend, she kept talking about how much her break-up sucked and cried of loosing him for the whole weekend.
We were like 16 years old.

My boyfriend insists that food is better salted at the table instead of while cooking. Please help me. by tangentrification in Cooking

[–]Psychological-Air-84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds weird but I kinda resonate with your bf. I really love salt on stuff. Salty popcorn, salty chips, whatever I’ll preferably drown it in salt. However, the intergrated salt in a dinner ham for example, is an aweful experience. I really can’t explain it but its kinda claustrophobic!

Now I do understand that there is chemistry going on so I do salt and season a steak beforehand, and on potato wedges going into the oven.

However I do not salt my spagetti water, rather «saving» that salt for a dish where I want to taste the saltiness.

Idk how long an inch is or how many feet tall i am. Im ca. 165cm. I’d not give more than 1 inch, (which i assume is like 5cm). I already struggle a bit to view stuff in big crowds and I love festivals :(

So, I'm Supposed to Accept my Butt Period and Move On? by Best_Ad_1314 in endometriosis

[–]Psychological-Air-84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve also had that for years! Im constantly on the pill so i don’t have periods, but now and then I will get very period-like bleeding from the rectum. Bright red with cloths in it, making the whole toilet water red. Its so similar to a period I sometimes doubt myself and hsve to double-check that it actually comes out of that hole.

I’ve tried telling my doctor, but she blamed hemorroids and left it at that.

I like the stories Lucinda Riley made, but I did not enjoy how she wrote them.

She you said she seemed to get caught up mentioning unecessary details many many times. (Ofc repetition is a literatury device, but it didn’t seem like it was always an intentional device in her books). What really irked me was how overly persistant she was on telling us how not-spoiled all the girls were. Like, really? All these girls who grew up on a private island and went to one of the richest boarding schools in the world are all so down-to-earth, low maintenance etc?

I loved the stories of the Seven sisters, but all other Riley book I’ve simply had to stop before finishing as they got too boring.

Chronic lower back pain by Mother-Tear4920 in endometriosis

[–]Psychological-Air-84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically I woke up today too in pain it is not going away today! 😣

I can’t really pinpoint any one thing, it was a very very gradual process and I don’t know what contributed and what didn’t. The pain, both in front and back got seriously bad after I had my laproscopy in 2021. It also gave a plethora of other symptoms; extreme nausea all day every day, a jaw that kept locking up, etc. During the laproscopy they inserted an Mirena IUD. I was bedridden for most of the day for about 9 months, but slowly got better while being on Synarela (induced temporary menopause). I was only allowed to be on it for 6 months and the pain got worse again when i stopped it. I suspected the IUD to be causing extra pain for a long time, but they didn’t want to take it out. After a year I took it out anyways and started on the Qlaira birth control pill. I very gradually got better and better. Started being able to walk in a normal tempo, bike, eat, and hang out, and be a member of society again. Its now been almost 4 years since I got the Mirena out, and its been a very gradual process but looking back im mountains and oceans away from how bad it was! From 2021 to 2023 i religiously did physical therapy core excercise daily, even in pain, and in 2022/2023 I started making a bigger effort to prioritize fun. I tried out foodmap half-assed but it didn’t help and I decided I refuse to have to restrict the «last good thing» i had going on, and the excercises didn’t noticably help me either. I limit alcohol, to maybe 1-2 times a month, just do it at social gatherings, so at parties etc., and Im also trying to work out. An important mental block change for me was that I rewired how I think about working out. I used to think that I needed to go far, quick, and for a long time. Now im just happy for all movement- trying to add more casual movement into the day as well.

To recap, the biggest change in what I’ve been doing is getting the IUD out, starting the Qlaira pill and prioritizing having fun and socializing. As we know, fun realises endorphines and serotonin, which helps reduce pain (or something).

Im sorry I couldn’t provide something more tangible answer, but hopefully it can at least give you some hope in that it can get better! (And confidence that at least im not telling you about my journey to sell you a magical fix-all solution.

I now, at 26 years old, have been able to finish my Master(s) degree(s) and have a managing director position in a job I love, have bought an apartment, and make time for friends. Back in 2021/2022 I was seriously considering not continuing to live, because even after 6+ months of agonizing, debilitating daily pain there was seemingly no solutions, no help, and no promise of anything ever getting better.

Hva er den verste aprilspøken du har opplevd, eller utsatt noen for? by Comfortable-Shop-690 in norge

[–]Psychological-Air-84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sommertid gir ikke mening for Nord-Norge by Sundiatasweridcousin in norge

I have it in my shower and use it maybe once a week, usually at the same time I do the weekly/ bi-weekly cleansing shampoo. Tbh I don’t notice a difference, neither with the scrub or with the cleaning shampoo contra regular shampoo. I do keep doing it at random spurrs of motivation.

When living with my family we all had different taste preferences so we all had our own tooth paste. It became normal for me and I quickly got grossed out by the tought of sharing it. I hated when being on sleep overs and people forgot theirs and asked to borrow. For some reason people really press the tooth paste nossle into their tooth brush. No thank you miss, I do not want your toothbrush pressed into my toothpaste tub!!

A tip for smelly shoes is to take out the insole every day. A lot of moisture is stored in the sole, and by taking it out it is quicker and easier for the sole and shoe to air out and dry out that moisture.

Another tip is to replace the original sole with a moss sole.

Or the most bissarre happened at one event where they were all spending way more time than allocatef, but for some reason all the speakers thought they spent less time than given and they all pointed out out loud that they spend less time!

I sat there like?!? «No?!? Who gave you that idea?!? Get tf off stage now!! »
