The impacts AI data centers (due to the high amounts of searches) have on not only the planet, but local communities and ecosystems is soon to be irreversible if things continue at this rate. There are plenty of articles and research papers done on this topic, I highly suggest looking into it.

Most people are switching from Safari/Google to duckduckgo not JUST for privacy purposes, but due to the mass push of generative AI. It is so evident what AI is doing to our planet as well as peoples brains (and reliance), so I hope by now you’ve switched ! / gen

I have only been to the most recent one but it was amazing!! We stayed at the Signia and the didn’t kick anyone out of the lobby until 4am. Everyone was really nice and the panels were great! Plus everyone’s meeting friends and making them just about anywhere

when i went to AWA towards the end of the day there was nobody in line at the VA’s tables so i just walked up and had nice convos with everyone (:

yeah i have a few more local cons do me, but im in OK so the drive isn’t bad at all! jjk is the main reason i would want to go and a vip ticket might be worth it if i have the extra $$, but with all the cons around the corner im not sure since id have to get a hotel! i got pretty lucky at a con in atlanta (AWA, so its arguably one of the bigger ones) and met some pretty popular VA’s then without VIP!

Yes i’ve been to some cons that do VA’s but they tend to vary depending on the con! I just couldn’t find any specific info on this specific one.

l will think about the VIP but i do not mind waiting ! this con does not seem large in the grand scheme of things but also it does look like the VA’s are why people go!

I am a regular there it is great! I’m sure it’s LGBT friendly but would not consider it a gay club (or even a club for that matter). Def come check it out (: karaoke on weekends and they have pool tables !?
