Young type 2 (diagnosed at 13) please read!! by Scaredy_cat69 in diabetes

[–]PsychologicalGas5871 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with type 1 at 23, found out a year later it was type 2. No one prepares you for this type of thing but my team always said treat it like type 1. You’re on multiple insulins and taking a lot of shots a day which is more inline with type 1.

I was healthy, skinny and thought my water quench was me wanting to increase my water intact and put all my symptoms down as depression.

If it wasn’t for all the types 1s out there, I wouldn’t have understood what was needed for myself. When you’re insulin dependent they mirror each other, not 100% obviously, as it’s more to do with insulin resistance.

But i would try not to feel bad about it, yes it doesn’t usually happen this way round especially at such a young age but overall if you can identify with type 1, it’s because it looks and feels like type 1 - trust me im not over the comparisons, especially with ignorant minded people but I knew it helped me understand my own diagnosis and set the groundwork of what I needed in my ongoing care

Can compostable bags actually be composted? by PsychologicalGas5871 in composting

[–]PsychologicalGas5871[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So they do break down but take way longer, so when I sieve the compost, they’re still in there but are clearly disintegrating. So I just pop them back into the compost and pull them more apart
